Article on Sky news about a male paedophile who 'is in the process of transitioning' (of course he is).

The perpetrator is referred to as he and him throughout the reporting, and then this:

The judge added that Miller being dressed and presenting as a woman was an aggravating factor as he doubted that the girl would have got into the car having known it was a man.

Lord Arthurson said: "The narrative was frankly nauseating in terms of its depravity and criminal sexual deviancy."

I was surprised by BBC's use of correct pronouns. So it appears it's up to the rapist in question? If he asks for "she" to be used in news reports then that's what will happen?

The cynic in me thinks this is to ensure the sparkly shiny new name stays clean.

He can transition in jail and come out with a new face, tits, paperwork and name all done with public money

The reason the perpetrator is referred to as a man and the media use 'he' pronouns is because that was the perpetrator's own decision. According to the BBC article:

"At the time of his arrest, he was presenting as Amy George but confirmed he wished to be addressed as Andrew Miller using "he" pronouns for simplicity."

Presumably if he had wanted to maintain his female persona then the media/court would be referring to him as a woman and using 'she' pronouns.
