Never heard of it, but if you really have witnessed anyone confess to a rape or state plans to rape I hope you passed the info onto the police?

Hmm, my police force in the Midlands, England, wouldn't be at all bothered about rapists in several other countries. The UK police aren't even bothered about 'activist' men actually here in the UK threatening to rape and murder 'terfs' (bet you've never ever ever seen or heard anything like that either), and the police advice is for the woman to come off social media if she doesn't like it, so...

There are rapists being misgendered, elderly women taking photographs of stickers, and disabled, autistic kids aren't going to bully themselves, so I guess it's unreasonable of us to expect the police to spare a minute to investigate rape and death threats when they've got all that super serious shit going on.

But anyway, back to the point of the thread, why do some trans activists and the lovely lads on Reddit want to prevent women from speaking at a conference about the loss of women's rights in Afghanistan, child marriage, FGM, etc? You 'had a thought' that the staff at the venue should all 'fall ill' at the same time to stop this event, so you agree with them that these speakers shouldn't be heard?

If so, can you please explain why? How are these women from countries where women and girls are treated as subhuman and the property of men harming trans people here in the UK by sharing their experiences?

ErrolTheDragon · 13/10/2023 14:56

I doubt some of these people could accurately define the terms 'feminist' or 'Nazi' (let alone 'gender critical')

MargotBamborough · 13/10/2023 14:53

Helleofabore · 13/10/2023 14:50

And nothing yet to support accusations about feminists being 'on the side of' nazis?

They won't find anything to support this because there is nothing to find.

Helleofabore · 13/10/2023 14:50

Helleofabore · 13/10/2023 14:48

And that article that was posted about the children's hospital threat didn't make any assumptions about so called 'gender critical' in any case. This could have been a person with a previous grievance about the hospital who upon reading something that they could not control their impulse to react completely disproportionately and abhorrently.

Again, unless Stephanee posts something definitive to support the outrageous claims they have made, it is all based on dismissal and minimisation for a group letting off smoke bombs in Grenfell and then heavily twisting who made a bomb threat to a hospital and laying the blame at a person who made a tweet. While dismissing all the fucking tweets directly threatening violence and rape to women by male individual with trans identities that are so numerous that they cannot be all captured.....

Stephannee · 13/10/2023 14:18

I agree setting off a smoke screen at the site of a tragic fire is very insensitive, but IMO it isn't on the same level as making a hoax bomb threat on a children's hospital requiring evacuation, having the bomb squad called in and causing mass fear and panic.

Ok. Again please tell us the relevance of your equivocation and dismissal here.

Ok to terrorise, actually let of smoke bombs, in the vicinity of where many people lost their lives and their loved ones and their homes because it was not 'the same level' as a bomb threat. Both are equally horrific in my mind. But hey.... you are the one here who is equivocating.

Please, again be very specific about why. Both causing mass fear and panic or do you honestly believe that no one felt fear or panic that night that activists let of smoke bombs in Grenfell?

Helleofabore · 13/10/2023 14:32

Stephannee · 13/10/2023 14:15

IIRC false info was posted regarding a hospital by a gender critical account on twitter which named woman believed, this became her motive for the threats.

How surprising. A person is being held responsible for another person's lack of impulse control....

And by the way, the hospital might not have done a hysterectomy on under 18s but they DID or do offer double mastectomies to under 18s. Gosh.... tell us Stephannee, what is the difference in your mind between the two surgeries done on healthy body parts in under 18s?

Please do be very specific about the relevance of the difference in your mind.

Ok to chop of the healthy breasts, NOT Ok to take out the ovaries..... the relevance is .......what?

Errr we need you to do more than possibly recall correctly. Evdience and context, please. What was the twitter account and what did they post? How do you know that the woman who made the threats was gender critical?

Surely, surely, no one who frequents this board could be ignorant enough to think that anyone who hates trans people is gender critical and vice versa.

Surely.

Surely they'd at least try to understand the first thing about the people they are arguing against and, in some cases, accusing of crimes, before they open their mouths.

Yes but on what basis are you attributing the latter to gender critical feminists? This is a very serious allegation.

What are you defining as a "gender critical account"?

Do you understand that there is a difference between a gender critical feminist and someone who hates trans people?

If not, you need to educate yourself.

If you do, how can you be sure that Catherine Leavy is in the former category and not the latter?

I also remember TRAs letting off smoke bombs outside Grenfell Tower because Labour Women's Declaration was holding a feminist meeting near there.

Well it's easy to tell from the thread which users are "gender critical". As we've seen from the "experiment" on the other thread Reddit is good at handing out bans to abusive users.

No, they just delete any gender critical posts very quickly, as a large number of mods are TRAs. I didn't see any abuse when I looked, just people asking why Filia were considered transphobic.

Reddit has historically had some very nasty subreddits including violent and sexual ones against women, so I don't buy your faux naivety about the rape one. They have banned a number of them (and the Gender Critical one, because TRAs). Here's a list:

My post was in response to LongLizStridesAgain who claimed LGBT people and allies "spend all their time posing on twitter with sub machine guns threatening to kill all terfs".

So, again, you are accusing feminists of making bomb threats? Or again, just any one who believes that sex cannot be changed.

"The U.S. Attorney’s Office said that 37-year-old Catherine Leavy pleaded guilty to charges of making a false bomb threat and intentionally conveying false or misleading information."

And earlier this year after a gender critical speaker was thrown out of a library I think, another gender critical user on twitter posted the library's details on telling everyone to call them. Shortly afterwards they got an anonymous b*mb threat.

And these are feminists making these bomb threats? Feminists?

Or have you decided to lump all people who believe that sex is immutable in together to make your point look more than just more empty accusations?

Anyone would think it’s anti-women…

You know who else was anti-women, especially middle aged women who took no shit. Jimmy Savile. I’ve heard rumours about why he didn’t like them… some even say it was key to his ability to hide in plain sight and manipulate so many people. Who knows. It’s a mystery for sure.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 13/10/2023 13:55

Yes.

I’m struggling with what you’re trying to illustrate @Stephannee how is this linked to TRAs threatening women online? We’ve all seen the posts. “POV if you’re a T*F in my mentions” and “T*F hunters” etc with their baseball
bats and similar.

Or is this just a bit of whataboutery? Can’t see how it links to shutting down women’s conversations? Really struggling to make the link between bomb threats in the states to what’s happening today in Glasgow?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 13/10/2023 13:48

In Australia the "Nazis" rocked up for the photo opportunity, but they didn't do anything. The TRAs, according to people there, were punching police horses.
