BBC reporting on Glinner: a seismic shift, a coup or a rogue breakthrough that will be quashed?

This is a huge change from the BBC in how it's reporting on both Glinner and the concerns that he has on the impact of gender identity belief

Hmmm, could be read as impartial or maybe an attempt to link Graham to right wing and “fringe” views whilst looking factual. Ending with Twitter banning/Musk reinstatement and an episode taken down by C4 so for those with little knowledge of the real background maybe encouraging them to think there’s no smoke without fire.

This line is very telling:

He also took aim at the BBC over its treatment of trans issues, accusing the corporation of doing everything it can "to suppress this debate".
The BBC has been approached for comment.

I think they're doing that thing that people often do when called out on shitty behaviour: Pretend they're not doing anything wrong by purposely doing the opposite this one time to make it look like the person who hit out at them was wrong.

If it's part of a wider shift in reporting from the BBC I'll be quite pleased but I'll believe it when I see it.

This was the biggest part that leapt out to me.

Perhaps it really is a sign of a change.... 🤞

Here is the Twitter discussion:

Glinner himself seems so shocked that he's opened up with a "Gosh" instead of an expletive 😉 (For context, I have a completely different style to Glinner in how I interact on this whole debate but that does not diminish my admiration for him).

I'm wondering what conversations this has kicked off in the BBC news offices today and what will happen next. Apparently this article was on the front page this morning when it first went up. What happens to each and every word over the next couple of days will be very telling. Suffice to say, I've got a screenshot of the whole lot. I should imagine like many people, I'll be dipping in periodically to play a game of Spot The Difference on what was first published versus the current version.

Fingers crossed for this being a proper shift in their editorial stance 🤞🤞

Indeed.

Interesting piece, thank you for sharing. Wonder if it’ll still be up in a few hours.
