Assuming DadJoke is wrong and this is a genuinely female-only event, inclusive of all female people no matter how they currently identify including trans men and non binary female people, and exclusive of male-bodied people however they currently identify including NB males and trans women, then clunky language notwithstanding I'm pleased to see there are still spaces and opportunities for "non male" people to meet, share the experiences of being "non male" and support each other.

I'm not surprised though. Because no matter how much genderists twist and turn and debase the language in their attempt to make sex irrelevant, the reality is that sex is relevant to women (original sex-based meaning) because it does drive their experiences and social outcomes. And as long as that reality exists, women are going to talk about it. So it's going to keep on breaking through whatever genderists construct in an attempt to deny it.

I hope this event being highlighted does not make them a target for the misogynists who would silence women talking about what it really means to be a women.

So why not just say they want female DJ's to apply?

That's because they also want to position males/men as a oppressors - but haven't really considered whether this extends to females who identify as men? ( or male). Are they oppressors too? And how do they work out if they want to apply in the first place. Would they be offended at being considered female?

Basically what it is saying is that they want women, transmen, non binary men and women, and transwomen to apply.
