A certain non-female poster was very obsessed with Hibo Wardere's posting history on twitter, so I've taken the liberty of including further posts from her. Think about those posts when you read the non-female's input.

If you should find yourself overwhelmed with rage on her behalf, she leads the UK charity Educate Not Mutilate. I'm sure it could do with financial support from MNers. Maybe set it as a beneficiary on EasyFundraising?

The Green Party started with the "Non-men" rubbish back in 2015 or so, at their Party Conference.

I have never voted Green since at any level (council, national, EU when we could). And I'm in an area where the Greens could have a significant voice in local government.

Mate, you're entitled to your beliefs, including your misogyny. You're not entitled to require others to validate them.

You've stated your beliefs. Mine are that all humans are either male or female, this is a fixed state that never changes, and it's possible for the very small proportion of people who choose gender beliefs and ideologies to have their needs met and be included in society without dehumanising and stomping all over women. And that when they do, this is a choice and not a necessity.

The ad should have specified females and all trans / non-binary people - assuming they mean females (regardless of any gender ID) and males (but only those in the TQ+ community). Basically it covers everyone except male people who don’t identify as trans / NB.

Because it is not acceptable to label women and girls as non-male. I would hazard a guess in that even in science that non-male term would be rejected in humans.

Non-binary people and trans people remain the sex they were born. This ad used offensive language and it could have used clearer additive language. Again, there were far more options than your over simplified limitations.

'Male' and 'female' are binary categories by definition. Non male = Female.

And so my point being - if you just want the event open to females - why don't you just say so. why bother withthe pretension of 'non males'?

You also misunderstand the point. Male and female are biological descriptors - not gender descriptors.'Non males' therefore equals females. -and that includes transmen ( women who identify as men), women who identify as non-binary, and actual women women.

What females does not include is men or males. Therefore - no transwomen or men with non binary identities.

So, the OP's original complaint that women are being erased because they are being referred to as a group "non-males" is not true? That's exactly my point - thank you for confirming it.

You can't have it both ways. Either you are complaining that women are being defined as "non-males" in this ad or you think that nonbinary people and trans women are female.

I have not yet RTFT but God this is disgusting. I grew up partly in South Africa of the 1960s/70s and this reminds me horribly of the signs in places like public loos and beaches denoting which were for "non-whites".
