Tough Crowd, due out 12 October. I’m delighted to see this. He is such a good writer and has sacrificed so much in defence of women’s rights and reality itself. Hope it’s a smash hit.

Ordered! Well-played glinner.

as someone who knew Graham Norton before he was famous, I’ve been so disappointed for the way he’s dissed glinner and women’s rights/safety/privacy in general. GN knows his own mum is a bloody woman! But it’s more fashionable to go with the crowd and not do your own critical independent thinking.

And dara o’ brien, what a thoroughly spineless disappointment you are. No golden bridge for you!.

Good on Jonathan Ross and Richard Ayoade.

I will never forget how glinner said in the early days that he couldn’t believe that others couldn’t see this sinister movement for what it is and how perplexed it must have been for this thoroughly decent man to find himself a lone celebrity voice. Losing income and all his industry connections.

Thank you glinner for holding the line and never backing down and shame on the rest of you with “celebrity” “fame” and clout/influence for not doing your own research and speaking up when it really could’ve made a difference.

You cowards!

WallaceinAnderland · 14/09/2023 22:41

May need to buy another copy for a friend....

Hell, buy one for your neighbours. Or a teacher xmas gift.

Kindle edition is available at £9.59 also out on 12 October

miri1985 · 14/09/2023 22:36

Was commenting it was #7 on the charts but then saw someone else had said the same above.

Anyway can't wait to read it and fair play to the publishers for being brave

Farmageddon · 14/09/2023 22:35

Also some moron somewhere who hates women cries every time a copy is bought.

😂

RhannionKPSS · 14/09/2023 22:32

Ordered !

SouthernFashionista · 14/09/2023 22:23

I cannot support Glinner publicly sadly but I will be buying his book. It’s the very least we can do. He’s lost so much. I pray that this is the way back for him.

BoreOfWhabylon · 14/09/2023 22:22

I'm actually feeling a bit tearful.

Mammillaria · 14/09/2023 22:05

I've ordered my copy from Eye Books (order number was 8100+ if that does mean anything)

lechiffre55 · 14/09/2023 21:58

If you want to buy direct from the publisher, here is a link.
https://www.eye-books.com/
You have to scroll down a little, but Glinner is hard to miss :)
I THINK every copy bought direct from the publisher gets signed but I'm not sure. Perhaps somone could confirm/debunk?
Amazon takes a hefty slice, in fact a few slices of the pie, but the upside is that it has a ton of visibility.

Even if you buy it cheaply somewhere, or on Amazon, every copy counts positively. It's at the pre order phase now. I don't know if it's been printed, but if it hasn't knowing the numbers really helps the publisher work out how many to have printed and get volume discounts in printing, second print run etc.... Sales numbers also make other people sit up and take notice, e.g. audibook producer etc....

Every copy bought supports Glinner no matter where you buy it.
Also some moron somewhere who hates women cries every time a copy is bought. Make sure they are "literally shaking right now".

OnTheBoardwalk · 14/09/2023 21:46

Though to be fair trending on Amazon will be great publicity so maybe not a bad thing

OnTheBoardwalk · 14/09/2023 21:45

I went for the free subscription but didn’t get an option to buy the book direct. Anyone another link?

ArabeIIaScott · 14/09/2023 21:44

Wow, I haven't RTFT so forgive me if this has been mentioned, but this is at #7 in Amazon.

That's a lot.

Farmageddon · 14/09/2023 21:44

Hmm, I pre-ordered from Amazon, but now I'm thinking it would have been better to buy directly from the publisher - does anyone know if he gets a bigger cut from someone buying it that way? I've heard Amazon is a bit stingey.

May need to buy another copy for a friend....

IcakethereforeIam · 14/09/2023 21:42

You don't need a subscription if you buy directly from the publisher, I think that'll see most of the money go where it belongs too.

OnTheBoardwalk · 14/09/2023 21:39

I’ve not purchased a book for years but will be getting this one

question is how do I buy this book without getting a subscription? I can’t afford that

i always buy direct from artist so they get the most money but without a subscription my only alternative is Amazon or the like, unless someone tells me otherwise?

DumDeeDoh · 14/09/2023 21:34

My order was 784x. How many are needed to be a best seller?

BoreOfWhabylon · 14/09/2023 21:32

If anyone's looking for something to read in the interim, I can highly recommend Simon Edge's The End Of The World is Flat and In The Beginning. A cunningly-disguised retelling of the Terf Wars: The Forstater Years. Both from Eye Books.

Would make a great TV series/play if Simon and Glinner were to collaborate on it.

My order this morning was starts 65. I think it’s going to be a best seller. Hurray!

Lottapianos · 14/09/2023 21:21

'kathy Burke is nowhere near as edgy as she likes to think. Swearing a lot and speaking in a cockney accent might be terribly ‘out there’ to the Tarquins that run TV but she’s now she’s as establishment as the rest of them'

Well said. Her schtick is very contrived

Women haters now attempting to claim that Richard isn't funny is hilariously transparent. This was a particularly amusing exchange -
x.com/francesweetman/status/1702269679564177410?s=20

Just like they only spotted the supposed racism and anti-semitism in Harry Potter after JKR stood up for women

Waitwhat23 · 14/09/2023 20:58

Oh, Ella has been made aware!

We could take bets on whether the next pronouncement from Ella will be either -
a) 'to my eternal shame, I didn't know that. I will burn all materials I own which relate to Peep Show immediately'
or
b) 'I didn't mean that Peep Show! It's a...ummm....secret underground comedy with the same name'.

AreWeNearlyHairnet · 14/09/2023 20:57

Sorry to put a slight dampener on this excellent thread but I pre-ordered the book last night about five minutes after Glinner sent out the email to subscribers and my email order said "Order #6283 confirmed".
So it didn't start at zero.
Still impressive numbers though, can't wait to read the book!

Boiledbeetle · 14/09/2023 20:56

lechiffre55 · 14/09/2023 20:21

@Boiledbeetle
Was it you who was chief beanie counter in another thread that shall not be named?
I nominate you for 10K counter/counterdowner in this thread! :)

Going to be honest i only zipped through the thread to see if that tweet had been posted.

What have I missed? I've got to clear my photos it won't let me screenshot without deleting things. I'm Fairly sure I've still got all the repeal the gra screenshots from the start of the year I might go delete them!

Hurrydash · 14/09/2023 20:54

Have pre-ordered on Amazon.

Thought JR was a total a*hole, and RA a dick by name dick by nature kind of guy.

More than happy to do a total 180 on both - aka a Keir.

Just hope they stick to their guns. If so great respect to both.

LoobiJee · 14/09/2023 20:54

Oops, I’d only seen the screenshot and hadn’t clicked on the Sweetman tweet where she says the same thing.
