Maya, Helen and the rest of the women walking down the street after an event and are followed by a mob of TRAs shouting fuck Helen Joyce anongst other things. In the end the police put them in a car to get them to where they are trying to get to.

I remember hearing him on Women's Hour many years ago (I used to be a massive fan) being interviewed with his mum and being embarrassed for him. I couldn't understand why he agreed to it. He sounded like a petulant teenager.

I don't know if you can still listen to it but whenever I read one of these threads about him I think I should see if I can find it.

I’m with the PP who saw him live several times and counts his New England as one of my all-time favourite songs (albeit Kirsty MacColl’s version), and now feel sorry that I ever liked him. He’s part of my cultural life, and now this embarrassing ignorance from him, FFS!

It would be great if he’d dare to come and debate this on MN.

He comes from just down the road from where I grew up. Strong women were the backbone of the working class part of east London he's from. Definitely forgotten where he’s from and showing disrespect to women.

It's been an absolute masterclass in left winged women hating on twitter today. They're like cornered rats.
All stems from Sunday and Helen and Maya being harassed in the street in Manchester, they know it's indefensible, they know it's beneath contempt but they can't stop themselves.
Bragg has now come out beneath the sewer somewhere near Australia.
I still find it upsetting how much men hate women.
Germaine was right.

I bought Lynskey's book, paid to see him in a theatre speak. It makes me feel queasy.

It does deserve a thread. The more people who are aware, the better. I used to be a fan - have his records and saw him live. Regret giving him the money now.
