Always heard Paul Simon was very litigious. Still he only ripped off 2 lines. Bit of a lottery though. A song that won Eurovision years ago was a carbon copy of Death of a Clown by Dave Davies of the Kinks. But they lost that case.

' Between the Wars ' is also a copy. Deutschland Uber Alles slowed down I think.

Talking about Paul Simon - do NOT think about Cecilia. I was on a baby name thread and it’s been stuck in my head for the last few days. Also one of the verses is a bit cheeky - I was singing it out loud in the car with the kids and forgot it had that bit - it made us all laugh! Billy Bragg songs sound like a sixth form politics class complete with sincerityflatcap and wistful guitar. Cecilia would have kicked them out too.

I just listened now. "I was 21 years when I wrote this song. I'm 22 now but I won't be for long." Astonishing. I always thought it was such smart writing, too.
