Sorry can't find the previous thread. I thought someone might like to attend. 18 witnesses!! Bet that's just a tactic to intimidate.

NEWSFLASH

45 days to go.

I received news this week that the venue for my hearing has changed. It is now at Watford Tribunal Centre, 2nd floor, Radius House, 51 Clarendon Road, Watford. It will be in an open court (i.e. members of the public are allowed to attend). The dates remain the same.

The case starts on 2nd October with reading and preliminary issues. Evidence-giving starts on 3rd October. At present, I still do not know the exact number of witnesses the OU is calling. In the preliminary case hearing, the OU's representative claimed that they would like to call 18. We are scheduled to exchange witness statements at the end of next week (25th August) and it is then that I will know if all of those 18 witnesses are, indeed, being called to give evidence.

That compost and bedding plants make a very satisfying day out at the garden centre.

AutumnCrow · 16/09/2023 18:55

£5,567 to go. That's an incredible collective effort.

GameofPhones · 16/09/2023 18:35

Planted 25 bulbs this afternoon.

RealityFan · 15/09/2023 22:37

Just spent a bit at the garden centre.

SerotinaPickeler · 14/09/2023 10:30

Damn, that 2nd emoji was supposed to be Cake.

SerotinaPickeler · 14/09/2023 10:29

Bumping. An opportunity to help a great cause, gardening opportunities still available. Also, looking forward to the accompanying MN thread, Brew and Cake. All good wishes to Jo Phoenix.

Kucinghitam · 13/09/2023 17:50

Planted a few veggies.

The garden centre

Show quote history

I mean, my GF drags me to gardening centres, but I always end up in the cafe with cake for my efforts.

RealityFan · 13/09/2023 17:29

How do you contribute?

LarkLane · 13/09/2023 17:26

I've just found the garden centre thanks to a helpful post.

InvisibleDragon · 13/09/2023 16:23

Just over £7k to go now

JanesLittleGirl · 13/09/2023 11:18

£7,589 to go

HandShoe · 13/09/2023 10:48

Thanks for the thread - I wondered whether one would have been started as I got her email update yesterday. Looking forward to following the trial. (Even more now that I know Ben will be putting them through their paces) Have planted a few bulbs - hope she hits her target.

Can costs be awarded in this hearing? If they drive up costs, can they be made to pay them if they lose?

Iirc, itt's vanishingly rare. It's why it was so huge when Allison Bailey got any contribution to her costs at all.

Greengrassohla · 12/09/2023 23:18

Always happy to contribute to anything that gets Ben Cooper out into the world 😀

Ereshkigalangcleg · 12/09/2023 23:09

Hence "gardening", tending the plot" "adding a few carrots" etc.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 12/09/2023 23:08

I posted the crowdfunding link on the Petitions page. Just the link and a text saying the court is in October and it has been hidden.

Crowdfunding links are banned on MN, for everyone.

AutumnCrow · 12/09/2023 23:08

I'll get me purse

SinnerBoy · 12/09/2023 23:02

Ben Cooper, eh? You'll have to take my word for it, but I'm rubbing my hands with glee!

JanesLittleGirl · 12/09/2023 22:59

£8,539 to go

CriticalCondition · 12/09/2023 22:54

Ooh, Ben Cooper. Delighted to know that's several minutes of legal skewering I've helped fund. I know it's not the point but really hope we can watch him at work.

Myalternate · 12/09/2023 22:46

I’ve just managed to find the, err…garden and planted 50 bulbs.

Puddlelane123 · 12/09/2023 22:13

She was my criminology lecturer when I was at uni - absolutely phenomenal at what she does, and her bravery at fighting this is inspirational.
