Jenny appeared on TalkTV:
https://twitter.com/TalkTV/status/1693548498912977193

Interview with Julie Bindel where Jenny gets a chance to talk without pressure and talks more about the threat to her job [she works in a council planning department ] :

Jenny has a page where she sells stickers, badges and shirts:

Still unclear where we are on legal action so keep your gardening tools handy. There seems to be a bunch of evidence this is a targeted homophobic attack. Hopefully LGBA is working on building a court case, especially against the first venue where the manager was involved, there seems plenty to work on.

Doesn't she work for a local authority?

Its a massive stretch to think this is bringing a local authority into disrepute! Nonsense.

They serve EVERYONE.

ErrolTheDragon · 23/08/2023 14:22

I do hope that the outcome of the 'HR investigation' is that they recommend Jenny is included in advising on diversity etc in the company.

If they shit on her in any way, that'll bring them into disrepute with many more people than it would please.

One place I used to work, they were okay with 2nd jobs as long as they weren't in competition or could use the main job to tout for work. But this was in the days before SM. And obviously not using any job supplies, time, contacts, etc. for your side hustle.

Same here. I wasn't there long, for various reasons, but they had a similar and quite reasonable clause in the contract. The only times I've heard of clauses which forbid any outside work were for people who worked in outrageously well paid jobs where they basically own you. It was a long time ago so maybe things have changed.

One offs wouldn’t count, and there is an argument about being self employed but i suppose if you’re always knackered for work because you spend every night seeing dresses to sell at craft fairs at the weekend, your employer is entitled to be concerned about that.

if you’re in a role where lives literally depend on you being alert, they won’t want you risking that with additional unlimited employed or volunteering activity.

FFSWhatToDoNow · 23/08/2023 12:24

anyolddinosaur · 23/08/2023 12:18

@FFSWhatToDoNow Wow - can employers also stop you volunteering then, or define any activity you do for a hobby but also make money from as "work". Not allowed to sell your knitting or make a dress for anyone else at your dressmaking class. Not allowed any fun activity at all if you make money from it?

St John's Ambulance will collapse as it relies heavily on NHS staff.

Volunteering isn’t work.

I work for a charity, and yes, employers do put limits on how much volunteering people can do for their well-being/safety. I’m ex-St John and NHS/police/fire services do put limits on how much their employees can work. Nobody wants them working 4 12+ hour shifts, volunteering for 30 hours at the weekend then back to work on Monday.

Bit cheeky unless you're paying £££ in my opinion.

Working Time Directive outs responsibility on employers to ensure their employees aren’t breaching hours or work break requirements.

PorcelinaV · 23/08/2023 11:51

Have any organisations commented on this other than the LGBA?

Are any on the trans-activist side openly supporting lesbians being forced to include biological males for dating?

Snowypeaks · 23/08/2023 11:35

But in any case that would just be their face-saving excuse, because nobody knew where Jenny works so she can't have been said to be bringing her employer's reputation down.

Snowypeaks · 23/08/2023 11:32

FFSWhatToDoNow · 23/08/2023 11:30

Secondary work policies are common.

indeed, if the HR dept have drunk the koolaid they could be stepping into shark-infested waters here depending on what they are investigating.

Bit cheeky unless you're paying £££ in my opinion.

FarEast · 23/08/2023 11:31

We're going to have to bring court case after court case, until organisations have to be aware that they can't discriminate for gender critical beliefs any more than they could refuse to employ a black or gay person.

Exactly @Ereshkigalangcleg

But it does make me wonder, as Kate Harris of LGBA said, just what really good things all this money that (mostly) women are raising could have been better spent - on supporting lesbians and gay men in various countries where they are in danger, for example. Lobbying those governments, for example.

Instead, we are having to support comrades in a supposed liberal democracy, for speaking about scientific fact, and same-sex attraction.

Snowypeaks · 23/08/2023 11:26

@FFSWhatToDoNow
Tricky for the employers if it wasn't Jenny that brought her work into it. If the gender zealots found out where she worked and contacted her employers, triggering an HR investigation, I can't see that being a goer in a tribunal. Especially since what she is doing is lawful and not immoral. Maybe if the terms of her employment do not permit her to do other work but I would think that is unlikely.

FFSWhatToDoNow · 23/08/2023 11:16

Ereshkigalangcleg · 23/08/2023 10:11

It’s likely to be “bringing the organisation into disrepute”

That's not a free pass to discriminate against people.

Absolutely agree. But they could steer away from the subject matter by just making it about public links to her job at a time when the media were scrutinising her.

I’m not saying that’s right, but it wouldn’t be illegal.

Datun · 23/08/2023 11:11

Yes me too. We're going to have to bring court case after court case, until organisations have to be aware that they can't discriminate for gender critical beliefs any more than they could refuse to employ a black or gay person.

This.

Their immediate reaction to TRA threats has to be no. And if gets worse no, and fuck off. Followed by pollce involvement.

deffo up for gardening. It's a lovely day to plant.

anyolddinosaur · 23/08/2023 10:51

Well if she wants to sue the venue or her if she needs to sue her employer I'm up for a spot of gardening. I would hope LGB Alliance might be on this, helping direct her to previous legal cases and support.

They are going after Jenny's job. Her latest statement.

So, I'm getting called out for supposedly making up the whole thing about our events getting cancelled. What I'm about to write might seem overkill ('cos it is) but this is where I am at right now:
"What in the world are you trying to convey? TRAs have demanded that venues don't hold my events due to my views (that lesbians don’t have penises…), and the venues have caved in, obviously. When I attempted to secure new venues, guess what happened? I have screenshots to prove this, and I'm happy to share them. But right now, all of this is making my head spin.

Just one week ago I was hosting a wee event that spread a bit of joy. Suddenly, everything has unravelled because a MAN refused to respect the boundaries of WOMEN at a LESBIAN event. No falsehoods here buddy. It’s been an utterly mind-boggling and also scary experience. Why do you think I would lie? What would be the point? What do I gain from that? Absolutely nothing. All that's happened is me losing a significant portion of my income, and receiving a bunch of nasty threats and (false) accusations. Sure, I've had lots of support but my life has also been completely upended.

Contrary to what some people are saying, dealing with media attention is far from enjoyable. However, if it’s necessary to reclaim my life back (and expose the shit out of this dogma) then I’ll go ahead and do that too. While attention might boost some people's self-esteem, it’s not having that effect on me. If you look at the comments section on YouTube, you'll find remarks like “With a face like that, no wonder she's a lesbian," along with numerous critiques about the way I speak (I was shitting myself with nerves so yeah, I wasn’t eloquent). I’m a socially anxious person (when beer isn't involved) but am trying my best to hide this during interviews. Please go ahead and brush this off as a melodramatic tale though.

I've lost my side hustle, it was my income. As for my 9-to-5 job, HR is conducting an investigation, and my face is everywhere in the media (I am not opposed to this and think it’s important but it still feels weird and uncomfortable; I can't even watch the videos because it makes me cringe). Please refrain from accusing me of deceit; find another target for your bullying. I didn’t want this, they did; and they got it."

Absolutely disgusting but I’m sure none of us are shocked.

More evidence this isn’t about being accepted and inclusive, it’s about TRA’s wanting to destroy anything women enjoy for themselves and make entitlement.
And any pesky women who dare stand up and say no will be bullied, vilified and ultimately destroyed for daring not to roll over and pander to every male fetish.

Is there a way we can support Jenny?

Her HR team need a reminder (or informing) that sexual orientation is a protected characteristic under the Equality Act, as is gender critical belief.

It’s likely to be “bringing the organisation into disrepute” if the online scrapping has been on accounts that identify where she works.

I would hope this is an investigation intended to clear her name……

CrazyArmadilloLady · 23/08/2023 09:34

This isn’t OK. I don’t understand why there isn’t an uproar over this.

It honestly feels like something out of A Handmaid’s Tale. But it’s real life.
