This shows the arrest of a teenage autistic girl by about 5 police officers. From what I can make out it is for a 'hate' crime. She apparently said a police officer was a Lesbian. Her Nan is a lesbian - that police officer is like my Nan.

I cannot comprehend the mindset of these officers.

Wow, over 10k responses to WYP's statement.

I'm not on Twitter so all I get is a peek.
But I can see that at 12:59 PM · Aug 10, 2023

There had been 2.1M Views and only 414 likes in relation to the WYP statement.
That's quite a message.

Just wait, I am 100% sure that all 7 coppers who should, in my opinion be sacked will without doubt all be backed to the hilt by their superiors. This is absolutely inhumane treatment of an autistic child, where is the empathy, where is the understanding. This was not a crime, this all happened purely because the blond woman constable was so unprofessional and butt hurt and lost her temper. She just isn't fit to be a police officer, and as for the other coppers they should have refused to arrest the girl and de-escalated the situation. This was horrible and without doubt if I had been that girls father watching them manhandle her in that way, I would not have been able to resist coming to her aid and defending her. But they will all be wrongly exonerated.

No, what will happen is that they say that guidelines (not laws) were broken, that they expect better standards, and the officers will undertake training, and that'll be the only consequence.

There will be no recompense for the trauma they inflicted on the autistic girl, which will stay with her for her entire life, and no mention of the fact that (per the definition of the Public Order Act 2023) this was an unlawful arrest bookended by illegal behaviour from the officers on the scene which - were it carried out by anybody else - would have been grounds for a prison sentence.

thankfully other police forces have a better understanding of working with autistic children. I’ve witnessed some first class police support over the years

Is lesbianNan the most famous non-famous woman in the UK right now?

I wonder how she feels about the Streisand Effect she created? She wanted to stop one drunk teen calling her a Lesbian Nana and now she’s internationally famous for looking like a Lesbian Nana!

Yet more police idiocy.
BezMills · 11/08/2023 16:29

Fuckin Sorry Police Force, there they go again.

I wonder if they were more worried about her complaining about them being phobic and not backing her up, than de-escalating things?

No one thought to say to her "fuck's sake, get a grip WPC and just get in the van and let's sod off, she's a pissed kid".

Instead, they all thought they had best back The Offended One up, or "she'll be complaining to the boss about how we colluded in in LesbianNanGate."

Of course I complained and raged and ranted and it made fuck all difference.
They do not care and will not care about women

I was a victim of Savile and gave evidence at operation yewtree, which is all a matter of record as well. The bbc promised to support us all, but yeah, that was bullshit and when I wrote to them repeatedly complaining about Karen White being referred to as 'she' even on woman's hour - they listed me as a vexatious complainant and I am not allowed to contact them now.

I work with young women in care and seriously fuck the WYP from top to bottom and fuck the bbc whilst you're at it 😂😂

Sorry for the anger, these cunts threatened me so hard: hate crime threats, harassment, coming to my house in the early hours, asked my neighbours if they had any complaints about me, stood outside my business being twats. I bet they're back after this rant which has revealed my name change etc.

Fuck those cunts. Every single rotten evil WYP. ACAB indeed.

That's behaviour you normally get from cults trying to silence critics. Scientologists go around canvassing neighbours to find one with a grievance and then fund them in pursuing it.

slore · 11/08/2023 14:54

Has PC Nana Lesbian's name been released yet?

I'm placing a bet on her being a non-binary pansexual who is mortally offended at being compared to icky lesbians.

TheClogLady · 11/08/2023 14:43

FatNoMoreSue · 11/08/2023 14:31

Someone else compared her to Jason Watkins as Herrick 😂

I don’t have a telly so I had to look that one up…

Uncanny.

Yet more police idiocy.
LarkLane · 11/08/2023 14:43

It was WYP who caused all the shit for Graham Linehan, based on the word of a non cop very dodgy person.

littleripper I hope nothing comes of your posts, but if they should come for you again, may be worth getting in touch with these organisations:

https://www.faircop.org.uk/

https://freespeechunion.org/

And Legal Feminist too.

https://www.legalfeminist.org.uk/

i’m in on a crowdfunder, should you find a way to take action against WYP.

(Just to reiterate I’m also up for helping this girl’s family via a crowdfunder, either for a legal case or just to buy the teenager something nice/a quiet few days away for the family - she needs to feel like the universe gives a shit about her because the police have shown they do not).

I think there is a women only holiday centre reasonably close by?

Someone on twitter said the police woman looks like Conan O'Brian and now I can't unsee it.

I'll report myself for hate speech...

FishNetz · 11/08/2023 14:25

Clearly necessary said with irony …

FishNetz · 11/08/2023 14:23

‘I don’t care’ … highlights a serious shortfall in disability training. However here we go policeman plod, a basic guide on how to work with autistic youngsters. https://www.safeguardingadultsinbexley.com/wp-content/uploads/Autism-Booklet-for-Police-Officers.pdf . Oh look, it recommends not staring, creating a quiet safe space (7 officers!) and removing triggers (police presence!). Police literature also states to arrest an autistic person only if it’s absolutely necessary (clearly necessary in her case).

I can’t get to grips with the high number of officers present, it almost feels like the start of a politically incorrect joke …. How many officers does it take to arrest an autistic girl with a physical spine issue?

Yet more police idiocy.

Boomboom22 · 11/08/2023 14:08

@littleripper I suggest sky news. The BBC are so biased anyway. Or the telegraph and the Times.

RealityFan · 11/08/2023 13:47

Is this going to be our (by that, I mean England's) "Isla Bryson moment"?

Ie, the SNP railroaded their Self ID law thru Hollyrood, and weeks later, it was in burning ruins as Bryson drove a horse and coaches through it, running over Nicola Sturgeon in the process.

If it really comes out that this girl's mum's testimony is broadly true, that this tenuous link to a hate crime/public order offense is what precipitated the police overreaction, them heads have got to roll, and the whole hate crime edifice, especially in relation to LGBT needs tearing up.

All those propaganda videos of police at Pride, zero tolerance on hate, and who are the individuals showing pure hate, to a young woman, and an autistic one as well.

Pure pinkwashing, the police remain institutionally failing in almost every respect, certainly they institutionally failed this girl. And every GC woman they haul over the coals for so-called hate speech.

For decades, I was the party bore, sticking up for the police despite their burgeoning shortcomings.

After stuff like KJK being interrogated and cases like this girl, fuck that. Not any more.

Or are we gonna find that Sunak has no time to again grab the moment and work towards an overhaul of the hole civic society has dug for us?

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 11/08/2023 13:35

it's definitely an institutional issue isn't it?

Officer Sulky believed that the culture at her employer is that it's OK to arrest someone for wondering if you're a lesbian. And she was right. Her colleagues pitched right in. Not one of them went 'hang on a minute...'

the only thing that challenged this culture was the public scrutiny enabled by the mother's video.
