I wouldn't tire of punching that smug little fucker.

No apologies for DM link.

"The defence lawyer told the court that the complainer whose evidence led to Hogg's conviction had to have her account of being sexually assaulted corroborated."

Where is this, Scotland or a fucking Gulf state? The victims saying she's been raped isn't enough, she has to be corroborated? So sick of this woman hating shit Angry

Donald Findlay KC is probably the most highly regarded criminal defense lawyer in Scotland.

Yes, he's kind of the Ben Cooper of Scottish criminal defence. Unfortunately I thought it would go that way when I saw he was defence counsel.

Who the fuck is he connected to that Donald Findlay represented him.

SinnerBoy · 11/10/2023 15:36

Good grief, community service for raping a young girl twice. I'm quite glad that I didn't take a job in Aberdeen, some years back.

Dianbeatthis · 11/10/2023 15:14

Oh Fuck… that’s appalling. My thoughts go out to his victim. And my thoughts go out to every single woman living in the misogynist shit storm that is Scotland.

Flipple · 11/10/2023 14:50

That’s horrific!

SunnyEgg · 11/10/2023 14:07

What the actual fuck is going on?

NitroNine · 11/10/2023 13:56

I just read that story myself. Utterly sickening, him & the whole system, frankly. But not to worry, the victim can be retraumatised if new evidence magically becomes available in the future: hurrah!

ArabeIIaScott · 11/10/2023 13:49

Smirking fucker.

Igmum · 29/09/2023 10:14

This is dreadful, that poor child. The initial sentence was bad enough but to have even that overturned? It shows very clearly how little the legal establishment value women and girls.

Hoardasurass · 28/09/2023 09:39

The rapist in the Times article is a different one from the original post.
This one (times article) is Sean hogg he was convicted of 3 counts of rape and 2 counts of sexual assault against a 13 year old girl and was given 270 hours of community service but doesn't think he should even have that sentence (appeal over a to leanent sentence was refused by lady dorian (yes the same lord advocate that lied about Scottish law and refused to stop using diversion for rape)).

I can’t read that article without a share token but is that a photo of him? He looks an arrogant, unashamed piece of work with his earrings and shades - how must his victim feel seeing him look so fucking untouchable after what he did.

And gloriawasright I’m not from the area but do live in the womanforsaken country of Scotland and am genuinely fearful for the women who live here.

No, it's a different rapist. The victim in the Times article was only 13 and the one talked about in this thread the victim was 17.

It looks like there is a pattern forming with the handling of 17 year old rapists.

Sean Hogg

Rapist who avoided jail for attacking girl, 13, appeals conviction

Sean Hogg avoided jail for the attacks, but says his conviction was a miscarriage of justice.

Whyisegg · 28/09/2023 02:18

The rape conviction rate UK wide is less than 1% so I think a radical change is long overdue..the CPS is not fit for purpose.

If the government repeatedly makes it clear they will protect men over women that's exactly what you'd expect to happen.

Yep and you know thing's are really badly fucked up when the tories and Labour agree with each other over any problem

Will this boys name become known when he hits 18? He must have had some heavyweights representing him to get this diversion of prosecution. Is he linked to a Scottish League football team? Or does the organisation that manages these football scholarships to the US have the money to pay for such representation?Because if he had had any criminal activity on his record he surely wouldn’t have been able to get a visa for an extended stay in the US.

I imagine he is well known, even feted, in Ayr for winning this scholarship. His name may not be being released but there are many mothers and fathers of daughters in Ayr who realise that this boy has been given a free pass because he’s good at football. What kind of signal is that sending out?

And was this scholarship in existence before the alleged rape took place or hastily arranged to tug on the heart strings once they saw that a prosecution for rape was on the horizon? Because what kind of society would stand between a man and his football?

If I were this boy’s parents I don’t know how I could live with myself. Unless you were utterly convinced that the girl was lying or couldn’t entertain that your son would do such a thing. Or, could believe it but choose not to condemn it.

This is so well thought out. I am just wondering if you live in the area ?

ArabeIIaScott · 12/09/2023 12:05

it presents a very difficult moral dilemma. You effectively are pre-judging someone for a crime they've not committed. Works for the most extreme cases, perhaps.
