Insurrection in the toilets

Popped to the loo in a supermarket earlier and THIS greeted me when I closed the door.

Not that I condone graffiti, but can't help admiring the woman who felt compelled to write that.

I agree with youbif setting up an organisation or charity. Something like LGBA needs to focus on what they do represent not what they don't or it's just a hate group which is wrong. But I think I'm written language and particularly if we are talking stickers and graffiti where there is only a sentence or two the crossing out would be most effective to highlight an important point. I think his because gender ideology and 'trans rights' has a habit of piggybacking and then co-opting other movements and charities etc. we need the clear message we see and reject the piggybacking

I prefer the LGBA approach of picking what you do represent and just saying that

But for stickers where you need something short and quick that catches the eye. Even if you don't have chance to stop and look at it properly you know the sticker person disagrees with the teaming of LGB and TQ.

I agree. Simply omitting the TQ may read as separating gender from sexual orientation to some but many will just assume it's old fashioned or lazy cant be bothered to type out all the letters. Like we see LGBT often instead of LGBTQIA+. If you actually cross out TQ it's a very quick clear message

LGB Alliance are great and are attempting to do the same as I am. LGBTQ is more visible than simply omitting letters. If someone wishes to actively push back on the idea that T should piggy back on the gay rights social movement, I think you need something a bit more assertive to penetrate in the public mind. Remember there are a lot of people that still think you are "born trans" and that it's a natural bedfellow of LGB.

Nothing stops people from also just omitting the letters if they want something less confrontational. Same goal, different tones. But I believe many of us are at the point that we think active counter-messaging is something we need, something showing regular public that actual LGB are not on board with the entryism of the trans movement. I'm also old enough that I've never really stopped thinking of "queer" as a slur, fwiw.

Somebody stuck an adult human female sticker over Eddie Izzard’s face on a poster advertising his theatre show (On the tube). Wanted to take a pic but the tube was packed and I felt conspicuous.

Put a smile on my face.

Thank you everybody for the encouragement. I'm not on Twitter. Well, I was suspended about four years ago for a post which said "trans in adolescent girls correlates with autism".

Maybe I'll re-register and I'll see if I can write something up.

I singled out the post above to reply to because I really appreciate someone also picking up the LGBTQ thing. I think it might have some mileage in it.
