She has just tweeted that she is appealing the decision to dismiss her claim against Stonewall in her recent case.

No news on if a garden is needed to be seeded though!

Not followed today, just reading here. Did GCC really try to base their costs on Tribunal Tweets???

I had to go to twitter to double check. it appears that yes, yes they did

astonishing

@TrainedByCats I agree. I always assumed Allison would need all the money and more. If she does get any of the donated funds back I trust her integrity to do what is best with the money.

Can anyone share the details I need to request access to tribunal tomorrow please?

I think tomorrow is just the panel making their decision.

Because I think through various possible scenarios when I’m giving to something like this to sanity check I’d be happy with how my money is being used

Tipping - that was my reading of the 'transcript':
BC: ......A broad brush is reasonable, but this is completely opaque as a costs application. And what is the basis of their costs?
EJ - it was so opaque it makes me wonder it they have a computerised billing system.

GCC were appearing to be relying on the comparative number of pages of Tribunal Tweets for each contested point that was dismissed to apportion their costs/claim.

Jeez. It's 'dog ate homework' territory. If true I hope GCC will be paying TT for their hard work.

GCC come across as incredibly amateur about everything. Was AB the only competent and professional person there?

If I had oodles of money and legal cases to bring I don't think my wish list would be smug, self righteous, discriminatory, terrible at basic tasks and administration, incapable of calculating costs without recourse to Twitter, unwilling to ever admit fault.

If this is the standard perhaps I can see why BC can charge so much!

Which suggests they were too hung up on their moral righteousness to behave professionally (yet again?)

Absolutely. The cheek. Even if they have no respect for Allison Bailey, they ought to have respect for the court.

Tippingadvice · 29/06/2023 16:57

@Madcats thats what I thought but didn’t think it could be credible to count TT pages. So basically GCC didn’t capture time spent on their case.

Yeah, that's about the size of it.

Tippingadvice · 29/06/2023 16:41

I’m following on Tribunal Tweets so is BC saying GCC have done a back of a fag packet calculation for their costs?

I'm given to understand that in ETs it's normal for both sides to pay their own costs in which case Allison would have used the crowd-funder money to cover her costs.

However, it is possible for costs to be awarded and the PP has stated that if this happened - in which case the money crowd-funded would effectively be 'spare' - then she didn't mind Allison keeping the money and doing what she pleased with it.

I'm not sure what's hard to understand about that.

chilling19 · 29/06/2023 16:35

'If they manage to successfully argue they shouldn't have to pay Allison maybe we should all be bring a claim against GCC for a refund through the small claims court.'

Yes I agree, and yes all individual claims too.

SidewaysOtter · 29/06/2023 16:31

All individual claims I hope?

As one of the numerous women who contributed to the crowd funder I’ll be really annoyed if it means GCC get off paying costs. I paid on the assumption that if she won and got costs awarded it would be up to Allison what she did with those costs.

When, in many many years' time, EJ Goodman is on her deathbed, her final words will be "that fucking bundle".

Grin

I still feel mildly traumatised at the word "bundle" and I'm not even involved in this case...

chilling19 · 29/06/2023 16:16

Nice question from the judge and good response from Ben - Allison's fall in income was the largest in comparison with her peers. He really knows his stuff and can pivot in seconds.

chilling19 · 29/06/2023 16:11

Harpy 😂😂😂😂

This bundle business is sending me a bit gaga now. I can only imagine how frustrating it must have been to deal with irl.

chilling19 · 29/06/2023 15:53

Love Ben - he is so exacting.

SidewaysOtter · 29/06/2023 15:26

Blimey Jane Russell is laying the drama on thick, isn't she? Hmm
