No Outsiders

What do people think of the No Outsiders programme being taught in schools?
I'm hoping that someone knows more about it than I do, but I wouldn't be happy with my children being taught about TG issues (assuming the slant it will take). The LG bit is fine, IMO.
I'm finding the protests outside schools very interesting. I'm not Muslim, and it's being framed as a religious tolerance issue, when, as I said, I wouldn't be happy with it either.

It is the approach of every property developer who thinks they can get away with it

All too common, IME.

BlackForestCake · 26/05/2019 19:35

I am with the parents.

I am not an educationalist, but even I know that when you are preparing a curriculum on sensitive issues for primary school children, you don't just lob half a million pounds at a bunch of gender studies PhDs and let them get on with it.

In a pluralist society you sit down with teachers from the faith communities and hammer out a compromise everyone can get on board with, before it even gets into schools.

Moffat's approach is typical of neoliberal politics: just go ahead and do it, and smear your opponents. It is the approach of every property developer who thinks they can get away with it, it is the approach of the racist settlers in the West Bank, it is the approach of all the politics wonks who have colonised the political parties, and it is deeply anti-democratic.

Carowiththegoodhair · 26/05/2019 19:10

Labels are unhelpful. It doesn’t really matter what political or religious perspective you come from, the fact is that we believe that what children is being taught in schools in sex ed goes way beyond concepts of tolerance or factual information and is actually harmful.

Nobody wants their children taught about BDSM.

OldCrone · 26/05/2019 18:09

That's a great quote, Buzz.

OldCrone · 26/05/2019 18:05

It isn't what I am doing because I am not a feminist!

But aren't you speaking up about this with the same concerns as we have? That gender identity ideology is regressive, misogynistic and homophobic. Or do you feel you're more closely aligned with the Muslim parents who are fighting it?

Not that it really matters, since this ideology is so poisonous that we shouldn't be fighting amongst ourselves, we should be fighting together to get it out of schools. But I wonder why you felt the need to say you're not a feminist.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 26/05/2019 17:42

Koteczek It isn't what I am doing because I am not a feminist!

"Feminism has fought no wars. It has killed no opponents. It has set up no concentration camps, starved no enemies, practiced no cruelties. Its battles have been for education, for the vote, for better working conditions, for safety in the streets, for child care, for social welfare, for rape crisis centres, women's refuges, reforms in the law. If someone says, 'Oh, I'm not a feminist', I ask, 'Why? What's your problem?"

Dale Spender, Man Made Language

koteczek · 26/05/2019 17:27

Hi OldCrone It isn't what I am doing because I am not a feminist! But I did write to my daughter's school (to no avail). This organisation Parent Power provides advice about how to deal with these issues and I think you can also contact them: parentpower.family/category/advice/

koteczek · 26/05/2019 17:18

Hi Sunkisses. I think you are pretty much spot on. I would say that we should all speak out against No Outsiders where we feel uncomfortable with it. But feminists do carry particular clout and legitimacy so if they started speaking out about it it would have an influence. However I think you will find that feminists have played a particular role in promoting LGBT in schools in general . Also the topic is even bigger than this. It is about sex education in general - I posted some links earlier - and will post them again - this is aimed at our children in secondary schools. This is extremely explicit material which many of us might feel uncomfortable reading. I do. However it is supplied to our children . The over 13s have access to the following supplied by from Warwickshire County Council's Respect Yourself Campaign:
Anal respectyourself.info/sextionary/#anal
Felch respectyourself.info/sextionary/#F
Sunflowering respectyourself.info/sextionary/#sunflowering
Bukakee respectyourself.info/sextionary/#B

For all ages from the Family Planning Association Sexwise site we have this: www.sexwise.fpa.org.uk/blog/can-lists-make-your-sex-life-better
The FPA is effectively acting as a gateway to bondage and sadomasochism for our children. Check it out. It is difficult to believe. The following links I found on the Sexwise site.

And here we have Brook saying that consenting sex is okay from 13 years old in their traffic light tool for training people working in schools:www.brook.org.uk/our-work/the-sexual-behaviours-traffic-light-tool

What Muslim parents are protesting about is the tip of the ice-berg and we should listen to them and take them seriously.

OldCrone · 26/05/2019 17:00

isn't it very important that feminists and feminist groups start also speaking out against No Outsiders, but from a feminist / GC point of view?

Of course. Isn't that what we're doing on here? And some parents on here have been discussing this with their children's schools. I don't have children in school, but I have written to the Welsh Education Minister about the problems around gender ideology being taught in schools. She passed my letter to the Equalities people to reply to it, though, so she (or the civil servants who work for her) clearly didn't understand what the problem was.

It really is remarkably difficult to get anyone in power to listen to our concerns, so if you have some ideas on how to go about this, please share them on here.

Sunkisses · 26/05/2019 14:46

@OldCrone and @koteczek, if your theories are correct (that Andrew Moffatt and No Outsiders are deliberately targeting Muslim schools, so that it looks like 'only' Muslim bigots object to their 'promoting tolerance of LGBT people' [but-actually-infiltrating-primary-schools-with-queer-theory] agenda), isn't it very important that feminists and feminist groups start also speaking out against No Outsiders, but from a feminist / GC point of view? Otherwise the Muslim parents will be isolated, wrongly labelled as 'bigots' (when interviews with them show their position is a lot more nuanced covering age-appropriateness, parents' rights, and gender identity ideology), and dismissed.

ElizabethMainwaring · 26/05/2019 07:07

This is being discussed on LBC now.

ElizabethMainwaring · 26/05/2019 06:43

I knew AM when he was firmly in the closet and even had a 'girlfriend'. She was lovely.

HandsOffMyRights · 26/05/2019 06:41

Hood thanks for raising this obvious Trojan Horse theory. The intent is so clear now.

HandsOffMyRights · 26/05/2019 06:37

Kote

You've nailed it! What a smart and calculated move.

OldCrone · 26/05/2019 00:57

It explains why he, Andrew Moffat went to a Muslim school where he would get the reaction he wanted to give a higher profile to his cause.

This theory does actually explain his choice of school. He deliberately chose a school full of Muslim children and their conservative religious parents, where even fairly anodyne material would cause problems. They are then framed as bigots, and the way is paved for completely batshit queer theory stuff to be wheeled in, and anyone complaining is just a bigot like those Muslim parents who are offended by anyone being taught about gay relationships.

So it's a Trojan Horse. What I hadn't really thought about before was the bit about making sure everyone knows that only bigots complain about the material being taught.

koteczek · 25/05/2019 22:06

Yes that really makes sense. It explains why he, Andrew Moffat went to a Muslim school where he would get the reaction he wanted to give a higher profile to his cause.

Absolutepowercorrupts · 25/05/2019 20:26

Also known as hiding in plain sight. I know I'm really cynical but it seems so clear to me

Absolutepowercorrupts · 25/05/2019 20:22

I believe that a backlash is wanted, because then those parents can be dismissed as bigots. MSM will report them as terrible bigoted people for not wanting their children to be taught tolerance and acceptance of Lesbian and Gay relationships and families that are outside of the heterosexual narrative.
So on the back of that, the No Outsiders campaign will be seen as a wonderful way to educate children. With the homophobic transgender Queer theory that teaches children the the lie they can change sex.
It's either a Trojan Horse or a double bluff.

SleepingSloth · 24/05/2019 16:53

Seems good to me, all age appropriate. I haven't heard anyone moaning about it at our school.

OldCrone · 24/05/2019 16:46

Sorry, hoodathunkit, I think I misunderstood what you were getting at. I read the first part of your post and I thought you were repeating what the MSM have been saying. Having read the rest of your post properly, I realise that's not what you were saying.

But are you saying that this is being pushed in schools in order to produce a backlash? So it's sort of the opposite of what we think it is? Get queer theory into the classroom to provoke parents into protesting, and then...what? Or have I misunderstood again?

hoodathunkit · 24/05/2019 15:55

Tuppy also features in this controversial archived video

hoodathunkit · 24/05/2019 15:45

an interesting video

it features Tuppy Owens, a very interesting person, as is the expert witness and gynaecologist Roger Clements

vimeo.com/60899467

I have a grimly interesting video of Tuppy, now removed from the internet, that would be of interest to posters here and not in a good way

hoodathunkit · 24/05/2019 15:32

If you read the Transgender Trend article about the No Outsiders programme, and/or some of the papers from the original project, you'll see that it was about 'queering the classroom', not about tolerance and diversity. It was only ever about messing with children's brains so that they could be educated out of having any boundaries, and had no concept of what should be normal or acceptable in a civilised society.

The tolerance and diversity bit is the Trojan Horse which is being used to get queer theory into the classroom.

I did read the article and I am in agreement with it.

I was attempting to point out that the modus operandi in relation to this kind of thing is to take a "liberal", progressive aspect of Western democracy, whether it is Trans rights, feminism, freedom of religious belief, disability rights or some other human / minority rights group and then use it to promote extreme and easy to ridicule aspects within such movements.

Examples within feminism would be the Red Tent movement, yoni eggs, Naomi Wolf's endorsement of Mike Lousada, the appropriation and perversion of spiritual movements focussing on the divine feminine, etc.

Examples within the disability rights movement would be SHADA, Outsiders, TLC and anything to do with Tuppy Owens (a woman who gave a lot of support to the PIE back in the day) and the appropriation of disability and special needs health care for disabled children by quacks promoting bizarre conspiracy theories regarding satanic ritual abuse.

You don't need me to tell you about the transgender agenda

koteczek · 24/05/2019 15:20

The trouble is that part of teaching kids that it is normal to be lesbian and gay means normalising aspects of homosexual sex and so for example on the Respect Yourself website which is used by various counties you can find this:
respectyourself.info/sextionary/#anal
and apparently some places are teaching kids about anal sex from the age of seven. See p.17 of this: www.christian.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/tmty2016.pdf
