Letter won’t make sense until we find out

  • who it was from?
  • Date it was sent ?
  • why the Met dept shared it with Meghan?
Starryfifty · 23/10/2026 21:13

Why on earth did Meg comment at all?? Except to get her beak in about putting the media straight about why she has no contact with her dad. About her. As ever

I think they shared it with her just as a kind of heads up. No evidence.

There I was recently pitying Katie price's children. Poor hamlets.

Meghan’s statement sheds light on strained relations with father

Several things could be going on here: 1) the Met examined the letter but didn't consider it credible; 2) the Met messed up and didn't pass the letter on due to error or negligence; 3) the Met did pass the letter on to the correct jurisdiction and the police there investigated and didn't find any basis to the allegations; 4) the police abroad didn't investigate the letter due to error or negligence.

But none of those scenarios involve sharing the contents of the letter with Meghan.

Not if it was sent to the Fixated Threat Centre. In fact I can see good reasons why they wouldn't want to share that with someone new to a royal role.

IAmATorturedPoet · 23/10/2026 21:35

So who would be the fixated one, the author of the letter? And she believed it to be true to the extent that she immediately cut contact with her father? Or am I confused (quite possible!)

I’m confused too!
I understand (I think) that a letter could have been sent but I don’t understand how Meghan could have seen it if nothing happened to TM for 8 years.
I mean, if a letter was sent, he was arrested/charged in 2018 etc, and Meghan said that she received notification in advance (as a member of the royal family), then I get that, but none of this makes sense to me.

Part of a routine briefing maybe about ‘this month’s nonsense, Ma’am. Nothing to worry about; we’re on it. Please do not directly engage.’?

I think the exact dates will be interesting.

AtIusvue · 23/10/2026 21:52

So are there two letters?

  • the letter with someone sending to the Met about allegations about Markle Snr that was then passed to Meg
  • Another letter where Meg was ‘assured’ that there will be an investigation.

The Sun article doesn’t claim to have seen any evidence that Meghan was told that this info would definitely be investigated by the Met.

There also no evidence that Meg was told not to talk about it, because of the investigation.

Who knows? I’m lost as a fart 😬

Starryfifty · 23/10/2026 21:57

I think I'll be having nightmares about "letters"

The whole thing is nuts

AutumnCrowOfTheChillWind · 23/10/2026 21:58

I know one thing. I’m sick of all the fucking lies.

Starryfifty · 23/10/2026 21:58

Are there another pair so unbelievably addicted to chaos ?? A lot to be said for a boring life

HamTwatter · 23/10/2026 22:02

Where and when will this end?

The sun:

‘Meghan yesterday claimed she cut off all ties with her father after the letter was passed to her soon after her wedding to Harry.’

It’s very hard to believe that they would find out this info quickly after the wedding. Had this info been told before the wedding, the wedding may not have gone ahead

The press need to find out the truth of the date that this info was passed.

I'm not entirely sure what she means by "cut all ties" as she very publicly sent him a letter when he was in hospital 10 months ago. At the time the narrative was that she was keen to be in touch. IIRC she got the US Embassy to deliver it.

A spokesperson for the duchess said it "has been exceedingly difficult for the Duchess to contact her father privately, despite her efforts over the past several days".
But, the spokesperson added, Meghan's letter "is now safely in his hands" thanks to the support of "reliable and trusted contacts".

Harry needs to steer well clear of bins 🗑️

Passingthroughagain · 23/10/2026 22:06

Being told her father was a suspected paedophile must've devastated her back in 2018. I wonder in hindsight how much it impacted how she felt during her time in the UK post-wedding, and that it wasn't just the Royal way of life that drove her to depression.

Yeh, her Xmas sales campaign is all but over. No one is buying her stuff while all this is going on.

Where and when will this end?

I suspect HAM's will be doing some other nonsense royal walkabout soon. They are nothing if not tenacious and thick skinned. Carry on, nothing to see here. We are victims etc
