Welcome to the EastEnders spoilers thread, where we post and talk about any EE spoilers we've read about, including those in early release episodes on iPlayer.

Link below to watch episodes on BBC iPlayer - these are usually dropped at 6am on broadcast days - and you can read brief synopses of upcoming episodes:

I think this another storyline that has been handled badly. They could have had a death and a mother grieving without all this nonsense.

the80sweregreat · 15/10/2026 22:55

Tommy is 16 soon. He could be in charge of the twins who are 12 ( according to the internet)
he shouldn’t have left them , but 16 isn’t a child and Tommy is fairly sensible. Most people wouldn’t , but Kat was in a state. It’s a grey area isn’t it.

Alucard55 · 15/10/2026 23:26

I genuinely thought he was off to do panto or that other nonsense thing the Prat pack.

the80sweregreat · 16/10/2026 03:08

Plus. Jean and Mo live at the Vic , so Tommy and twins have them around too.

Shellingbynight · 16/10/2026 08:44

I don’t think it is a grey area, Alfie was leaving his own children effectively with no parent. Tommy is at school himself, so he was expecting Mo and Jean to look after them all, and look after a suicidal Kat, while he went off uncontactable. And clearly not 'for a few days' because he chucked his phone away.

Even more ridiculous was Alfie agreeing to become a hit man. That’s what happens when you set up a gunman on NYD, you have characters behaving like this to justify the set up and keep people guessing. Although this cannot have been part of the original idea when NYD was set up a year ago, because the producer did not know Zoe was leaving.

(I thought it was his Prat pack exit too! They must have done a lot of early filming around that and panto.)

the80sweregreat · 16/10/2026 08:56

I didn’t word my comment below that well ! What I meant was if he has left them just to find Kat.
He did act irresponsibly the rest of the time , I mean who gives their phone away ? Ridiculous writing.
Tommy and the twins were with adults still too , so he knew they were safe. That’s all I meant really. He took a bag , so was intending to go away for longer, but the whole episode was a bit of a mess really!

storminabuttercup · 16/10/2026 08:58

Alfie is selfish though isn’t it? He’s buggered off plenty of times

on the surrogate story, did I imagine Bernie was one once or was it that she got pregnant ang someone then said ‘we will take the kid’?

the80sweregreat · 16/10/2026 09:02

Oh yes, Alfie has definitely gone off before.
I suppose a lot of it was merely ‘padding ‘ as it was a two hander episode ( mostly ) and then the drama of the cab stalling in the spooky woods.

the80sweregreat · 16/10/2026 09:04

Bernie had a surrogate baby for Rainie and Stewart.
I can’t remember much else there, but I think I’m they ended up with the child ?

the80sweregreat · 16/10/2026 09:11

Kat and Cindy team up to get Max! Two in a long line of people I guess plus Cindy will go hell for leather when she discovers he left her for Linda on his wedding day as she isn’t aware of that yet.
What a tangled web they weave

Shellingbynight · 16/10/2026 09:12

Oh yes absolutely 80s, no problem with him going out that evening to find Kat.

I think Bernie at one point wanted to keep the baby, but then handed it over? Rainie had Little Abi for a while with Max, was the baby after that?

the80sweregreat · 16/10/2026 11:02

I do forget that Rainie and Max were married once!

murasaki · 16/10/2026 11:48

I did like Rainie. Her and Phil on crack was one of the funniest things ever.

Shellingbynight · 16/10/2026 11:58

I loved Rainie. She was much better value than Tanya!

murasaki · 16/10/2026 12:58

Jo Joyner was good in Time this week, but yes, as an EE character, I preferred Rainie. More scope for mayhem.

Shellingbynight · 16/10/2026 13:01

Yes that's my feeling too. I haven't seen Jo in Time, but I really like watching her in the C5 dramas, she is such a likeable Everywoman.

murasaki · 16/10/2026 13:08

She is. And I'm not sure I've ever seen her phone it in, she's good.

Eastie77Returns · 16/10/2026 13:23

Why/how has the cab just been abandoned outside the tube without being clamped and why would Alfie just happen to have the keys on him (esp when he was on his way to leaving)?

I had to binge watch several episodes and I'm completely confused by the purpose of Ryder's beating. Did Ned think Ryder would decide to be straight (as if it works that way lol) becuase he was beaten up by a stranger? It would have made a bit more sense if he instructed Mark to shout homophobic abuse as a twisted way of 'scaring' Ryder out of being gay but just setting him up for a random attack...?! I don't get it really.

Shellingbynight · 16/10/2026 14:06

Kat noticed the cab when she was with Phil earlier, and implied that Alfie had driven it there to 'hide' it from her, so it didn't remind her of Zoe's death. But I agree with the daftness of him instantly having the keys on him!

Ryder was supposed to 'get the message' because he was beaten up outside a gay club. Yeh I know, makes no sense, along with the rest of that storyline.

thisoldcity · 16/10/2026 15:30

Jessie Wallace was an amazing grief stricken drunk in this episode and her guilt over Zoe was so real. It is a little difficult to believe in some ways, but that's EE for you. Alfie was fairly believable for once (whilst also being very annoying) and I think the whole thing about him leaving / rescuing Kat showed how desperate grief can make people and how out of character they might become. Leaving his kids was awful, the last thing they needed. I also was expecting an exit for Prat Pack or Panto!

NowNumber5 · 16/10/2026 15:35

The Uncle Charlie's cab thing is weird.
Didn't Zoe "steal" it from the dealer/s?
That was how she cracked her head wasn't it?
How come they've never tracked it down and tried to get it back?
Or is this another thing we are supposed to just gloss over??

the80sweregreat · 16/10/2026 15:40

I thought that Alfie paid off the man who had the cab. He showed up at the pub and wanted 10k. As far as i know they paid it?

Shellingbynight · 16/10/2026 15:41

Kat and Alfie paid the guys for the cab. they came into the Vic.

NowNumber5 · 16/10/2026 15:44

Thanks @Shellingbynight and @the80sweregreat

Obviously, I must've glazed over missed that part!

the80sweregreat · 16/10/2026 15:46

The Ryder story doesn’t make any sense at all.
It is what it is these days , we have to try and roll with the punches and fill in the gaps sometimes as what the writers are thinking.
You never see any parking permits in the cars there or anyone being clamped. It would be rife in any kind of normal road in London , but the residents have their own rules it seems ( unless plot reasons to have cars clamped )
