Skirt https://www.marksandspencer.com/faux-leather-midi-wrap-skirt/p/clp61268242?color=Black&intid=mobileapppdpshare
Fit is amazing
feel amazing
looks really expensive.

But if I wore it with black tights, would it look weird ? if I wore it with knee boots would it break up the whole split thing so I think I have to work with heels and then what on my legs?

Great skirt. Sheer black tights and heeled ankle boots.

bgi · 21/10/2026 12:41

Love that! Sad they don't have my size!

growinguptobreakingdown · 21/10/2026 12:42

I'd wear it with sheer black tights with DMs, heeled ankle boots or ballet flats.

Amandainorange · 21/10/2026 10:39

That skirt is lush. Love your taste @iCod .

I would probably go for some 1980s style patterned sheer tights in black. I think M&S do some at the moment with florals or dots.

This is what I was going to say! I’ve been seeing some patterned tights in films lately and wondered if they were still a thing. If not, they should be.

Petitedress · 21/10/2026 12:50

Very thin 15 denier tights and shoes, not boots. Knee high boots would look really silly.

MzHz · 21/10/2026 12:51

I wonder if you can use some heel shoe boots. You know the ones that are kind of Y2K style

not necessarily these one, but low rise in black

you could try high rise boots tho - have you asked AI? I use copilot for this stuff. Really helpful

The Maud Heel, suede heels

A heel for a leaving do that goes on. Upper in suede, Side zip. 3 colours. Insole length in cm, per UK size.

I’d bear black buckle docs. And fishnets or thick patterned black tights. But don’t listen to me cos I wear those with every skirt! I think it works (but maybe I’m delusional). Tbh I wouldn’t buy the skirt though cos of the faff at the front. Reminds me of bag flaps. But I’m weird. I love a long black leather skirt though. Paired with a cut off black jumper would look awesome

Love this idea!

looks like a bin liner...

Nonsense. It’s fabulous.

NovemberMorn · 21/10/2026 13:53

I love it, and the model looks fabulous in it.
Back in the day I had a similar black leather skirt. I am usually tanned, so I wore it with bare legs and black suede heels.
If legs are white, always wear tights; sheer, natural or black would suit.

ChloeCannotCanCan · 21/10/2026 11:31

Ooh that’s a fantastic skirt…. Are you thinking daytime or evening wear? For day I I think black tights and a medium heel lowish slung boot for evening I like idea of a lacy black tight and high black heels

I'm thinking of wearing it to school!

OP posts:
iCod · 21/10/2026 14:01

Yes, I'm quite swarthy too @NovemberMornbut bare legs daytime in winter would look weird

iCod · 21/10/2026 14:01

Sean Connery! The flap and dip at the front are the best.

princecharlie · 21/10/2026 14:02

I would match my tights to my top but I’m a bit funky like that

iCod · 21/10/2026 14:02

I'm thinking sheer but not SEXEH sheer tights.

Ah the passage of time, the school run dress is now the kink club skirt (wipeable)

Dying 😁😁😁

I'm going to have to google what a college tight is
Will someone come and confiscate my hard drive?

Not so funky if they both be black though

Edited

Typo for colour, I assumed.

Love the difference in fit on the two models, one showing full knee and sliver of thigh, the other really not.

iCod · 21/10/2026 14:06

Yes, I agree @WitsEndFFS the styling isn't that good

OP posts:
iCod · 21/10/2026 14:09

I'm more stunned by the fact that in all of the nine reviews. No one has used the cliché "dress it up dress it down", which they seem to use on every single item in the Marks and Spencer website.

@iCod AI suggests; 😊

Tights Style, Colour & Density. Why It Works
The Classic Evening
Sheer Black (10–20 Denier)
Adds a sophisticated, Parisian edge. It shows a glimpse of skin beneath the wrap, preventing the black leather from looking too heavy.
The Cosy Daytime
Opaque Black (60–100 Denier)
Perfect for winter. It creates a sleek, continuous silhouette that elongates your legs, especially when paired with black boots.
The Fashion-Forward
Patterned Black (Polka dot, fishnet, or chevron)
Adds rich texture and visual interest to a monochrome look without clashing with the skirt's asymmetric hemline.
The Soft Alternative
Charcoal Grey or Deep Espresso Burgundy
Softens the harshness of an all-black look while keeping the outfit grounded in rich, autumnal tones.

🧥 Complete Outfit Styling
Pairing the right tops, shoes, and jewellery ensures the skirt remains the star of the show.

Styling Element, Day / Casual LookNight / Evening Look
Top
• Fitted cream or grey roll-neck knit sweater
• Fine-gauge ribbed jumper tucked in
• Intricate lace bodysuit
• Silk or satin button-down blouse
• Off-the-shoulder bodysuit
Footwear
• Chunky leather loafers
• Clean minimalist white trainers
• Flat knee-high riding boots
• Pointed-toe stiletto ankle boots
• Strappy heeled sandals (sans tights)
• Sleek sock boots
Outerwear
• Cropped wool bomber jacket
• Oversized trench coat
• Tailored, sharp-shouldered blazer
• Plush faux fur short coat

👜 Finishing Touches
Jewellery: The skirt features a discreet back zip, giving you total freedom at the front. Lean into bold gold jewellery (like chunky hoop earrings, a heavy chain necklace, or stacked rings) to add warmth against the black polyurethane.
Belts: Because the waist features a slightly dipping front edge, avoid thick belts that crowd the area. Let the high-waisted wrap silhouette do the work on its own.
Bags: Opt for a structured baguette shoulder bag or a minimal leather clutch to mirror the clean, modern lines of the design.

Patterned tights in black could work if no sheer tights in black or skin tone. It does look lovely in the picture but I think it just might not on size 16 me!
