I'm not one to beat about the bush. As a long-standing member, I think it's about time we had this out in the open. There's no point in shoving bumsex in all over the place, willy nilly. We've got to find the right position for such a big thing. I understand some people are uncomfortable with having it forced down their throats. I myself felt a little uptight at first. Surely we could squeeze it in, if there is the right opening in relationships.
I think it's very good of Soh to tackle this. i think we should back her up all the way..

I'll leave it MNHQ but know this, I'm not after sanctioned smut, I think it makes sense. It's there anyway, it always will be there and I think at the moment, it's there in the wrong place.

When I started reading I was thinking no way, but now I'm with Show of Hands. I've been swayed by reasonable arguments, well made, plus I want a nice new topic to hide.

I have an album called "Rebel Songs of Ireland" which might have come in handy, but sadly no record player.

Because even if all the porn.com sites have a big announcement saying 'MN has a Friday Night topic', they'd have to follow it up with a 'don't get excited, the posters are the same, still not falling for our crap stories and waffling on about boden in the main and most of them are hiding the topic anyway, but hey, the words Friday and Night in a topic title might blind them all to sense, change them all tangibly and they'll start posting pictures of their dungeons on their profiles'.

Seriously, with sites like Informed Concent etc. the 'weirdies' as you put them are more than catered for. Give it a months trial run if it doesn't work out bin the idea.

I'm asking today because I've been asking for months. I tried asking on a Friday, I tried emailing MNHQ and got fobbed off with 'go and start a thread and see what others think' and 'we'll take a vote on it'. Nobody got back to me, so I'm bringing out the Tuesday afternoon big guns.

And actually, I think we all have the intelligence to know that choosing to share our own experiences on here is something we do with caution and discretion. People won't be sharing all manner of sexual predilections because there's the topics there. The weirdos will be what they always were and most people will ignore them.

The true weirdos, the damaging trolls are the emotional vampires who ask innocuous questions and garner support for troubling realities and feed off that. But with them, as with the sex pests, you can only temper what you post yourself. You won't change MNers and the soul of the place but you might allow some people the choice to customise MN to how they want it, and to hide certain threads from nosey children who read over their shoulders. And to allow vulnerable people to post in relationships for advice at a difficult time without rubbing up against bumsex.
