I thinjk the Loose Women/Wright Stuff format would be MUCH better. I can also see a good way of doing AIBU: Do a little film with narration of the OP, cut to the panel piling in, then back to the film from a slightly different POV with more information, carry on, repeat...there you go, AIBU by stealth!

Oh and MumsnetTV sounds just fine to me for what it's for

I agree that it needs to be more "Loose Women"-esque and less "GMTV". Important things discussed along with the frothy stuff.

Further thoughts (because i know how much you value them): The success of MN really is about the fast cut and thrust of debate and the wit, as well as the sympathy and help offered when needed. A question time type affair would be much more interesting, a panel of a few Mners (changeable each time) debating issues raised by the audience and then having a great big fight.

Or some mud wrestling. But PLEASE not hair and beauty shite.

The AIBU went on a bit... repeated the same thing about 6 times Agree with those who say needs more people.

Fashion bit? You need some MNetters to do the makeovers on other MNetters. And in Harvey Nicks with their personal shoppers helping . Shooting those lovely ladies on the stairs OMG the angle was awful. No one looks good being shot from feet up. Who was filming? The pap who tries to get the knicker shot as slebs get out the car?

Liked the eyelash curler tip. That was quite funny watching the girls nearly mutilate themselves but not quite

And finally, but most importantly, Michelle get a flippin' hair brush and use it before you tie your hair up. I hope MN towers has paid for that to be fixed

it came across as just what it was ( i think) a pilot, or a clip of an upcoming full length show.

it doesnt work as it is because it is just brief clips and not enough to hold your interest.

It was peculiar. I can't think anyone outside of MN would be interested because it is so dependent on inside jokes and the interes of putting names to faces.

Specifically: Fashion: Do you hate those two MNers?

AIBU: sounds like a raving loon.

Beauty: all right, bit nothing.

Celeb: Ok. At least a bit of a rapport seemed to be started. Bit pointless.

Haircut: perhaps not.

Over all it doesn't seem to have any point. And it is quite embarrassing and will confirm all those "biscuit" and Matthew Wright type views of MN.

I thought the Mumsnetters themselves came over quite well - you know, natural and friendly, confident. There was just no opportunity (with the exception of AIBU) for them to be opinionated, which is what makes MN so interesting to me.

I'd like to see a round-table discussion of a more meaty topic - give it 15/20 mins so Mnetters could really get their teeth into a topic of widespread interest.

It came over a bit sound-bit-ish and trivial which doesn't do MNet justice when you think of all the brilliant, thought-provoking 1000 post threads we have on here.

I think we should have it as a bit of a loose women kind of format.
discussions of that weeks hot topics, each lady wearing something thats been recommended on the S&B threads, a quick trial of a beauty tip and some more debate over the AIBU.

that way you get a more MN feel rather than a This Morning feel.

Oh that's a bit strong! I think the problem is that everyone has seen that format done with great production values on TV. We can't expect MN to come up with those, and have decent lighting etc.

Maybe run with the home cam thing, and do more of the talking heads - or gather a group together and give them an AIBU - or gather a group and get some of MN's fashionistas to dress them (goodness only knows where you'd get the clothes from though).

Sorry, I meant to say, I think you should probably have spent about 4 or 5 times the budget, hired a proper interesting stylist to do the first bit (not a camp bloke we've never seen before), and also hired a producer who has slightly higher aspirations for it all (not meant as a slight to the current producer).

Terrible production quality - but that's been said.

I don't know, I just felt a bit embarrassed by it, TBH. MY DH already thinks I'm a bit of loser for being on here so much; if he saw that, he'd probably ban me from ever coming on here again.

I liked the will young interview actually, even though I am not a huge fan. It was rather nice.

Is it bit of home cam just for the jolly of MN users? In which case, it was rather fun. Or is supposed to be for something else or more? If for something else and more, then the format and the production values might need a look at?

I have the MN haircut, thoguh you cant see it very well in that clip as i had my fringe bit clipped back.

We were there most of the day filming different segments but i guess they had to cut it all to fit the slot.

I think with a little more production it would make a really good mini show on a womens TV channel like those that show the midwife and baby programmes.
