Hello.

We're thinking of doing an MN Guide to Style and Beauty - but we can't do it without you!

We'd love you to post bestest, wittiest, most practical style/hair/beauty tips, secrets, rules, dos and don'ts on this thread.

Obviously, we're thinking "this will make you look good in the 13 seconds you have between getting up and getting the kids up", rather than "this will make you look good but takes six hours and £3000 to achieve".

Spend money on jeans, shoes and a decent coat. Buy cheaply and they will look crapola.

Do not wear leggings or character T Shirts.

Do not shop at Boden or Per Una.

Baby wipes are a good second if you have not the time or energy to wash your face of make-up. They even remove waterproof mascara dontcha no!

Hair conditioner used as shaving cream/foam is an effective and much cheaper alternative.

Carry a small handbag mirror when you go clothes shopping to check your rear view in outfits. I keep meaning to do this and always forget

also good for checking for food in teeth and mascara globs.

Yes very very nice. Is it short though? Some of those coats are very like Boden's uptown coat but half the price.
I have already ordered this tonight in my wine addled state. If only I'd seen the Wallis thread earlier.
