I'm sorry to do this, I'm sure if I read 2000+ posts I would understand but please could someone explain the DM business to me

Because I thought the DM was a paper we loved to post links to in order to take the piss at its general dreadfulness, particularly the way its editor hates women.

And now it seems there is some sort of tie in? Do they not understand irony?

Is that what is going on? And if so, who thought this was a good idea?

navy, at the time of the first thread Justine had received unofficial legal advice (from her DH) that there was nothing they could do about it. Since then they've talked to MN's actual lawyer, who thinks that there may be.

why would mumsnet need legal advice, I followed the firs thread on this before hvaing to go to work and justine (I think it was) says she's cool with it and will try and get the DM to include a MN logo.

they have an interim opinion, which is that it might be dodgy, but are waiting to hear the full thing. no need to be so rude, especially when you're not in possession of the facts.

I can't see anyone wanting to quote me, but given that my name and my email address match, and that family who I don't want knowing every aspect of my life obv have those.....

Although to be fair, the various family members that I would rather not know certain things tend to read varying better/worse papers anyway.

Apart from my sister... I have no idea what paper she reads, but then, she knows of MN, if she wanted to stalk me she could.

That is the charm but considering the media profile they should be a little bit more savvy. A NQ solicitor who can give basic advice on IP/copywright would cost about 150 quid per hour. Surely they could afford that?
