unused nicknames

I am sorry if I came across as harsh, this is my talk name and I am going to use it again.

There's really no need to be harsh and claim I am 'moaning'. If you look at this thread you will see it is all about people wanting names that are already taken in some manner.

If your account is currently active then it won't be auctioned anyway, I was just wondering if it would be allowed to be used if it was used only the once by someone who then left MN forever.

Are you ever planning on using it again? If you want the incident in question to be completely separate from your current name (since you don't post under 'TheOriginalTrillian' either) then is there a particular reason why you want to keep it?

I am still here thank you I have been for six years, I named changed to trillian to post some very personal stuff, I use that name on other unrelated sights. I set it up from a very old email that I no longer use as I wanted it to be kept separate from my mumsnet known self.

If you looked up the post you would see why I name changed.

I was told you were moaning about this when you joined, if it is auctioned I will buy it and archive it again

I would like to have Minty but tis taken and no posts at all come up and I have searched back to 2003 or summat like that.

Some people reg similar names so that they don't get taken

I did the same as lissie - I bought Rusty at the auction because I get called Rusty all the time. I used it for about a week (in fact I was using it at the end of May two years ago, so I'd guess that's when the auction was - where did that time go?) and then started to miss the bear bit, so I changed back.

But I don't want anyone else to use it because it would get confusing, so I hope it's not going to get put up for sale just because I haven't used it for two years.

However, I wouldn't mind if you wanted to recycle AmosStarkadder, JudithStarkadder and MarySmiling, which I only used on a Cold Comfort Farm thread and which I have no particular attachment to.

You could also remove PCMumsnet, who made an appearance in a particularly rowdy bar one evening (I think it was the one where Shoshe was pole dancing) as I don't suppose I'd be allowed to use it any more anyway....

I don't know, but I need a new one perhaps. Just read on talk rules that calling yourself "so-and-so's mum" is a bit I was sleep deprived the day I chose my name, all right!

I'd definitely bid for Ses. Gets frustrating having to think of variations just because someone else once used it. (Although I'm quite proud of current version! )

I was going to say that there's also a Shoshe, which IMO is very similar to Shoesy. I don't know her at all, just know that the name excists.
