In the interests of saving all our bacon I think a 'PANIC' topic would be an excellent idea. Then you can pop all the end of the world catastrophe stuff in one handy place.

I am (quite seriously) thinking I might have to publicy announce that I have hayfever whenever I go on public transport.

I have such dreadful hayfever at the moment I'm all red eyed and sneezy and do look hideous and people look very nervous around me.

I might need a special 'I do not have Swine Flu. Really.' sign attached to my coat.

Please- I am frantically avoiding them as I am on immunosuppressant drugs and if I get caught up in the hysteria it's going to seriously stress me out! I come here for light relief, not to be terrified...
