I'd like to nominate bastian for the wonderful:

"finally, someone to talk binary with"

on this thread

I wonder if bastian is on the wrong forum if he/she is wanting to talk dirty binary with us ...

paisleyleaf · 05/11/2009 22:32

I like your quote Nancy.
'Disable cookies' is funny and did make me LOL - but we couldn't have had QOTW referring to biscuits as well surely.

CaptainNancy · 05/11/2009 20:43

Great... so you were struggling this week? Scraping the bottom of the barrel?

Okay- yes, I'm thrilled to bits it was me... but really, it was so mundane

How the hell could Threadie not be QOTW? (especially as she's not actually even here! )

PerArduaAdAstra · 05/11/2009 13:56

How about:
Deadworm Thu 05-Nov-09 12:18:25
Go to Tools, then Internet Options, then Security, and select 'disable cookies.'

On the 'I hate the biscuit' thread - topical without controversy and vv funny

LuluSkipToMyLou · 05/11/2009 11:14

Sorry, it just has to be:

You admire the Iron Lady, but you're going to vote for 6 foot of Wibble in a Savile Row suit? OK

On this thread.

Swedes on the prospects for the British education system:

"Before too long a state secondary education will be a series of online multiple choice worksheets, for which nothing less than an A* Gold grade will be awarded. The LEA will have a webcam view to ensure there are no Digestive crumbs on the students' keyboards, and the LEA will carry out Health and Safety checks ont he swivel chairs, not less than annually. Most swivel chairs will be upholstered in black boiled-wool-effect polyester but there will be a few in patent red leatherette, with brass casters. These will be reserved for children whose parents have a relationship with their local vicar."

(Too controversial?)

NormaStanleyFletcher · 05/11/2009 08:23

there are some good ones on here too

NormaStanleyFletcher · 05/11/2009 08:13

There are some good ones

"Obviously, we didn't speak for sometime after this incident. But, in hindsight I'm glad it happened because no matter how much I might spend shopping, MrQueen simply daren't ask me how much I've blown because he knows I'll reply 'Considerably less than the price of a BMW with a private plate on it'.

Actually, give MamaG QOTW for this

whomovedmychocolatecookie · 05/11/2009 00:29

Anything in here will sum up this week on Mumsnet. Roll on bumsex day I say - at least we'll have something to laugh at.

Incidentally thank you for the biscuit.

MamaG · 04/11/2009 23:45

if ever a website was about encouragement and support and viperishness its MN. When your our fabulousness is recognised, shout it out!

thread obv

MN has been pretty fabulous all round this week. Might encourage email receivers who do not post to, er, post? AND it shows off about the fab award. AND I've never been QOTW

JustineMumsnet · 04/11/2009 23:40

We need some help - we're struggling with QOW this week and if you can't find one HelenMumsnet will do something rash, like demand a pay rise...

Any inspiration folks?

NyeEve · 12/10/2009 08:12

I am laughing at that dress A LOT.

"An inspirational, original poem is printed in silver on the inside neck line:
When I finally see your face,
All this waiting will be
A dream we once dreamed
You, a warm weight in my arms
A near and present love"

and my fanny in tatters. Amen.

DD inviting loads of mates back to stay overnight after girls' night out. It was supposed to be two but there has been inflation of guest numbers. If they make a noise I will go in naked dripping milk and I WILL KILL THEM!!!!

snigger · 18/06/2009 06:55

I'd like to nominate UnquietDad's precis of the Daily Mail:

"It's basically "Heat" for people who vote Tory and know how to hold their cutlery properly, isn't it?"

GeraldineMumsnet · 30/05/2009 14:30

It's interesting though, that it is necessary to have a penis to do barbecuing. Considering the height of the average barbecue and the positioning of the average penis, I would have thought that this was seriously counter-evolutionary.....

from the Man-Looking thread.

GeraldineMumsnet · 09/04/2009 13:05

Thanks HecAteTheEasterBunny, your nomination is on the homepage.

'invest in' or 'investment piece' as in
'why not invest in this £50 foundation?'
'This £15,000 handbag is a real investment piece.'

No. An ISA is an investment. A £15,000 handbag is an abomination
