THIS MORNING - which charity should mumsnet contribute their fees to??

That's it really. Mumsnet are appearing on 'This Morning' in the not to distant future, so where do their fees go?

I think there should be a poll on which charity it goes to - don't you?

mn isn't a charity - if there are fees involved in mntowers going on a tv programme to Promote their new books and website ( and i didn't think thats how things worked) then i hope mntowers give themselves a nice bonus and get wankered

I'm not interested in how mumsnet's hypthetical fee is spent but am wondering what ahundredtimes is going to do with all the cash she'll rake in from those banners? I think we should be told...

Why don't you nominate yourself.

then whatever fee Phil & Fern give to you you are free to give it to the Royal Society for the protection of trolls whatever charity you wish.

I certainly wouldn't appreciate you telling me what I could or should do with any money I had legitimately earnt.

And I very much doubt they are getting paid a bean.

So, the majority opinion is that if mumsnet were to make a profit from mumsnetters by appearing on day-time TV shows,zero percent should go to charity. Shame.

it's funny, every so often someone pops up to say 'you FOOLS, you realise you're being exploited' and they generally get very pissed off when everybody else has a more sophisticated interpretation of the facts.

people make a living out of providing us with a service, when we joined up we signed away our 'copyright' to any statements made here as is the norm on the internet.

i think it would, yes.

look, MN is a business, it doesn't have to do anything for charity. i don't care whether it does or doesn't, i don't care if it (as is claimed) makes little profit or if it makes LOADS... it's a better website than most parenting ones. that's all they have to run to have done their jobs properly as far as i'm concerned. just a better-than-most site. because in that site, acts of real live human charity take place on a daily and hourly basis.

but as it happens, i know that they've knocked back considerable fees because they have issues (that their members would share) with the companies in question. that's ethical, and to their financial detriment. like i say, better than most.

If no fee ... would it be rude/chippy to ask if any percentage of your profits from selling said books with the help of mums netters goes to charity?

It's a 'win win' situation. Whatever MNHQ makes out of mumsnetters appearing on 'This Morning' & donate to charity I will match percentage-wize on what I make per minute or however long they are on for.

I know I am going to be biased here but we have had a number of threads ref HD. I work for the HDA and know that funds are scarce. as they are for all charieties.
Sure whatever you choose would be a worth cause.

I've a feeling that, if there is any fee, MN towers will be restocking their gin supplies. (I've a feeling they've become gin-dependant since November )
