but I would be grateful if you could tell me that you have at least given serious consideration to banning the posters who were harrassing her.

Thank you.

Blimey - missed all of this hoo ha.

Of course is about moldies. Or rather, it is about PPH wanting desperately to have been right about justabout. Looks like a bandit raid to me.

Ah Rhubarb ackershally you are not usually supervised by the vicar if by that you mean the incumbent of the parish where you are working - you are usually supervised by someone who is not involved with your daily work

The Vicar incumbent would however possibly be her line manager

Rhubarb · 20/01/2009 14:27

She'd be supervised by the vicar.

CreativeZen · 20/01/2009 14:26

Oh that's not nice MS. Are we now going to attack people for what they don't say as well as for what they do??

Ingles2 · 20/01/2009 14:25

I totally agree MP. you need to alter your post Justine. As a deacon of the Anglican church she is a rev.
see here

wannaBe · 20/01/2009 14:25

I think people misunderstand the term supervision.

When someone who works in an empathetic role, ie a counsellor, psychologist, someone in the church they have the option to take their workload to supervision. That doesn't mean that their supervisor comes on to mumsnet or sits in on their counselling sessions to ensure that what they are posting/advising is right, it means that, every so often, perhaps on a specific basis or on occasions if the need arises, they can go to someone, a supervisor, who is someone also connected with their profession, and offload, as it were.

So say a counsellor has a particularly harrowing case, where a client has been through unspeakable things. Things that are quite disturbing to have to listen to. As a counsellor, you are bound by confidentiality, so you can't go home to your husband and tell them of your day, and that is why you go to supervision, to unburden, so that you are not as deeply affected as you might be otherwise.

I presume this is the kind of supervision that the rev is talking about.

in the Anglican church 'The Reverend Mr' is used for Deacons this says wikipedia

(although your link suggests I'm wrong - shall bow to your greater authority! Never heard Rev Mr though)

smallorange · 20/01/2009 14:24

Lol Carmenere

tortoiseshellWasMusicaYearsAgo · 20/01/2009 14:24

you wouldn't say the Revd Mr, but you might say the Rev Dr if they had a PHD or I've even come across the Rev Professor

morningpaper · 20/01/2009 14:23

pedantry here

Carmenere · 20/01/2009 14:23

Oh I might try to invent a Yes Pecan recipe as recipe of the week this week....

morningpaper · 20/01/2009 14:20

Can I point out that this is wrong:

(nor is she a reverend actually but a deacon as she has said)

A Deacon IS a Reverend. I think ackershally she should be addressed as "The Reverend Dr..." or "The Reverend Mr..." and although I've never heard of "The Reverend Ms..." perhaps that is how it works

Alternatively you can address a Deacon as "The Reverend Deacon Just Justa" I think, although I'm not sure

Hey Guys this is an historic day, in a couple of hours time, for the first time in history, a total fox black man is being inaugurated into the white house, can we leave this petty squabbling and concentrate on the fox real issues of the day?

jute · 20/01/2009 14:16

oh I thought she said her posts were being supervised. I'm sure she said that because I remember thinking it was odd.

Taking what you deem to be advice into supervision to discuss is very different.

couching I think you make the most sense

Tamarto · 20/01/2009 14:14

lol bitof you and me both

jute · 20/01/2009 14:12

oh I'm a bit slow.

BitOfBarackyFun · 20/01/2009 14:12

Hehehe, have never done it before, honest guv! Why, I can kill threads just fine without it normally...

CountessDracula · 20/01/2009 14:11

I also think this gang thing is chud

PPH, Enid and Bubble are all perfectly capable of individual thought and opinion.

pagwatch · 20/01/2009 14:11
Rhubarb · 20/01/2009 14:11

I second what Justine has said, why not just use the 'report this post' option?

princesspeahead · 20/01/2009 14:11

Justine can you delete all the threads which accuse me of harrassing Rev and digging into her private life please.
