eeka, if that were the case it would be very nice for those Moldies who vetoed Custy to clarify this to Custy themselves, rather than leaving her wondering who they are and why they did it.
I do think that whoever did this should have the grace to contact her. At least that way she would know which of the others are still her friends.

I am orf for a 6 week sabbatical today (NOT a flounce, just a rest) and feel the need to round up my contribution to Moldiegate before I go.

I've been following the story since the very start. I witnessed Twig's "Fuck you" comment to MNHQ and Justine's two (count 'em) very deliberate references to the Moldies in response and the resulting mayhem as it all unfolded. I've posted on and off as well.

To Custy and Rhubarb can I suggest this: perhaps you were vetoed by the Moldies because the Moldie consensus was that they thought you actually wouldn't want to be a part of it? That they had an idea of your likely reaction to the notion of an elitist private board and decided not to insult you by inviting you? Or indeed to protect themselves from your scorn had they suggested such a thing to you?

I can imagine that to be the case and wondered if you had ever considered it? Perhaps I should have cat'd you as its personal but as I'm trying to get away from this place for a while I hope you don't mind me posting this here for all to see.

That is true wannabe, but a lot of those who did that, have now buggered off to Moldies.

the irony of it all though is that some of the aggrieved parties in narniagate are now moldies.

strangers always welcome? I don't think it can be said that newbies have always been welcomed with open arms on mn. People who are not recognized are often ignored/accused of being trolls and yet if a regular posts the same opinions on the same threads the response is vastly different.

I understand why the likes of Beetroot and ggglimpopo went onto Moldies - to discuss very personal and private things without trolls or abusive posts. We were getting a lot of those before Christmas.

But the behaviour of some of them - stirring it on Mumsnet, telling people they had been vetoed, refusing to apologise, keeping it all a secret etc. Some note.

It would not have gotten to this if they had been open and said, there is this private site we go on to get away from trolls and to discuss personal things with friends. That would not have kicked up such a fuss at all.

As I keep saying, it's not the existence of the site that is the problem, but the behaviour of some of the members.

An all-out apology may well settle it.

But don't hold your breath.

the surreal bit is that if it was not like narnia, why did they have to tell people it was not so.

wot got me thinking about it is some posts today saying some ogf the same things i remember on here from narnia.

There is always talk on these pages about "dead give-a-way" clothing.

I was in Planet Houston this week. We don't have a Kohl's in Lubbock so we went shopping. Found a Dockers Golf vest. Looks like a windbreaker without sleeves. The one I picked out is bone or off white with a black stripe from the arm hole to the base of the vest that's about 6 inches wide. The vest doesn't scream gun it screams golf and the stripe breaks up the lines of the gun when it prints.

It has a mesh liner and is water resistant. Was plenty confortable while in downtown Spring shopping early afternoon. Would have been even more comfortable if I'd worn a t-shirt instead of a heavier polo shirt. Only sought refuge in the shade a few times.

Not bad for $32.00.

Now when in public the sheople will think I'm carrying a concealed golf ball or two.
