hmmm...wannabe...I kinda see your point...but...well, than, me being a member on mn is not a secret, if a friend was to ask....and if a friend would ask me what my id was, I would tell them, nothing secret about me....
I can understand others feel differently about this....however....mumsnet is an open forum, whilst moldies becomes more mystifying by the minute....

A few people have mentioned that it hurtful to a. not have been nominated and b. to be nominated and turned down.

There are of course moldies that were nominated by one person (presumably) and not turned down because nobody knew them well enough or cared one way or the other enough to say they didn't want them on the site. So I suppose they can't really be considered as "special" or "popular" or whatever either.

TC- I requested you ages ago ( last, last year I think it was). You sent me a message asking who I was (think it was a time when lots of Mnetters were all requesting each other and I saw you on someone elses profile page).
I got a bit paranoid though a short while after ( about facebook itself) and deleted my facebook account (after about two weeks) Then when I set it back up I didnt request the same people in case they all thouight I was barking mad!!

Sorry, that simply isn't entirely true is it? People were put forward for inclusion, and were vetoed, quite possibly as someone said earlier, because an existing Moldie did not care for them.

Is it the case that a candidate only has to be vetoed by one Moldie for them not to be invited? Or is it a majority decision?

How many people on here tell their closest friends about mn, and give them their nicknames so their closest rl friends can join mn and converse with them over the internet as well as in rl?

There have been threads and threads and threads from people confessing that they never tell people in rl about mn because they don't want people in rl reading things about them on the internet. People namechange on here to avoid recognission in rl.

And yet these are peoples' close friends? rl friends.

Do you think that those rl friends should all have a two week long discussion and discuss the validity of friendships should they encounter you on mn and you've not told them you're there or invited them on here?
