Can I just jump in here. I want to repeat a post I posted a while ago now last week about how I found a link to moldies on a group message on fb from October that I hand't read properly and thus was oblivious to until I read it again last week after this all kicked off. As a non moldie the vibe did not seem vindictive at all but rather somewhere friends could post to each other privately without trolls etc which was a huge concern on here at the time.

I cannot comment on the vetoing/voting thing as I wasn't on the board and I can understand how friends of moldies that weren't invited are hurt but imo this is for them to take up with their friends personally.

I am an honest person and am not as yet a moldie but since alot of the people I consider friends post on there and quite frankly are poo at keeping in touch on msn and fb joining moldies will be the only way I can chat to them. I have been re-assured by a friend that moldies have a no slagging off mn'ers policy which is fine with me and a policy I will adhere to if I go on there. I also realise the moldies themselves may tell me to fuck off but I don't want to do anything behind anyone's backs. I intend to keep posting here either way and have people I like and trust on both sites. I hope this doesn't hurt any of you and as I said want to be totally upfront on my intentions whether they come to fruition or not.

I am withdrawing from this discussion because I feel that I can't behave honourably if I respond.

If I don't agree with certain statements, I have to challenge them. In doing so, I have to give examples, and I then risk hurting individuals feelings unjustifiably.

If I don't, I feel that I'm not being truthful.

So I'm going to try very hard to fuck orf. I don't know what will happen from now on, but please don't take my silence as a tacit agreement.

your'e saying come on as if you don't believe me, onebat. i think that a couple have been reminded that they were sent emails or FBs in the earliest days anyway, and one may have been contacted to explain by way of an apology. but not completely certain of that. i hope she has, most definitely.

i think it would be a lot fairer if, say, only those who had been on MN for 4+ years were invited, that way it wouldn't get personal. Otherwises it does seem like cherry picking, particularly with 'younger' Mners.

Nah, don't stop on my account. I've only posted on this entire subject half a dozen times. Some on here have been losing sleep for a week or so.

I understand why some people want to know. It's just that I don't believe that 500 odd people have a need to know as it's all got carried away.

I don't agree - I never saw any answer from anyone in charge which said how many veto's there had to be. I think it was done on an individual basis, nomination by nomination.

Also, 'I've never heard of her' was sufficient reason to veto. So all the really old guard - so old as to consider 3 yr old reggers to be newbies - just veto'd anyone who wasn't their personal friend.
