I think the 'oh get over it' is more the attitude that MNers are interpreting from some of the Moldies responses, not necessarily exactly what anyone has said.

I'm not intending to stir, I thought it was a genuinely good idea.

Mind you, don't know why I'm reading/posting anyway as it is nothing to do with me as I don't even think I'm a MNer.

Just someone who posts on MN occasionally.

So I'll bow out, since my Ghandiesque idea was trampled beneath a stampede of indignation. It's obviously Not My Time.

This is democracy in action. It;s freedom of expression in action. Any reporter who looks that these discussions and thinks it's a sad or shameful event for women is a fucking idiot.

Yes, women bicker. They are distingusihed from men in disagreements in limiting themselves to debate, as opposed to deadly conflict, the essence of our political and social culture. Viva MN!

What BIWI said. This is really really sad now. Hurt has happened. A bit of dignified withdrawal on all parts, followed by some light hearted common-ground finding might help.

Insistent truth telling, while it might be 'true', is not going to rebuild relationships.

Okay so the IP address that posted that stuff about Rhubarb and Custy is 86.4.182.189 and this can be seen from the Wiki history.

If the IP identity is that of a mumsnetter, would it be possible for MN to communicate with the poster to ask them not to post stuff like that about other Mumsnetters?
