If you (still) feel the need to discuss Moldies, please do it here so folks can hide this if they want to.

Well hopefully the title says it all. There's been a suggestion, and we agree, that as we did with Baby P and the Mc Canns we just have one thread where anyone who feels they still have anything to add on this subject can post and those who'd rather move on can hide it away.

It feels strange to put this thread in site stuff as we are definitely not wanting to encourage further discussion of Moldies (we have presents to wrap too you know ) but we weren't sure where else to put it.

We will delete any new Moldies threads that are started, so please feel free to report them in case we miss any (what with wrapping the presents and all...)

And if you do want to carry on the discussion please remember that Mumsnet's here to make everyone's lives easier and not the reverse, and that Christmas is a time of goodwill to all mumsnetters past, present and future

Thanks,
MNHQ

Nice banter and talk of cocktails - I think this is a suitable point to return to RL for the rest of the evening.

EffiePerine · 28/12/2008 21:06

mind you I can never get it quite right

alternative: coffee w cream and drink the whiskey

catinthehat1 · 28/12/2008 21:05

Hmmmmmmmmmm.

Thanks!

Bauble99 · 28/12/2008 21:05

kikid · 28/12/2008 21:04

answers? ask custardo

WalkinginWaynettaWonderland · 28/12/2008 21:04

Cat - so long as you gently pour the cream in, over the back of a teaspoon, the coffee will stay black (do NOT get lazy, as i did this afternoon, and after the first half of the cream had landed successfully, got sloppy with the rest and ented up with a brown mess (so to speak!!))

Bauble99 · 28/12/2008 21:03

Or a Slow Comfortable (for them) Screw from the banks?

Imoogi · 28/12/2008 21:03

Don't know if this thread is about to end, but PLEASE, MP, could you reproduce Dotterel's mock letter to the indy in your news round-up? I was crying with laughter.

pooka · 28/12/2008 21:02

Oh - black russian please.

My mother always used to make me a black russian on christmas eve before I headed off to the pub. Was bliss.

lou33 · 28/12/2008 21:02

faq me too

EffiePerine · 28/12/2008 21:02

runny cream

Black coffee is poured into the mug;
Whiskey and at least one level teaspoon of sugar is stirred in until fully dissolved. The sugar is essential for floating liquid cream on top.
Thick cream is carefully poured over the back of a spoon initially held just above the surface of the coffee and gradually raised a little. The layer of cream will float on the coffee without mixing. The coffee is drunk through the layer of cream.

WalkinginWaynettaWonderland · 28/12/2008 21:01

I'll have one of these please......

catinthehat1 · 28/12/2008 21:01

sorry Effie I sounded a bit needy then!
Is just a tsp enough?

morningpaper · 28/12/2008 21:01

Instead of a Black Russian, I could have a Black Deripaska

would be too obscure?

catinthehat1 · 28/12/2008 21:00

Look I want answers.

EffiePerine · 28/12/2008 21:00

cat: sugar in the black coffee - tsp

then float cream off spoon

goldFAQinsenceandmyrrh · 28/12/2008 21:00

I'd love a fairy to come and tackling my clean heap of washing in the corner that either needs folding, pairing up or ironing.............

WalkinginWaynettaWonderland · 28/12/2008 21:00

jojosmaman · 28/12/2008 20:59

lou33 · 28/12/2008 20:59

southeastastra · 28/12/2008 20:59

catinthehat1 · 28/12/2008 20:59

goldFAQinsenceandmyrrh · 28/12/2008 20:58

SE - I think they're talking about cocktails now??

catinthehat1 · 28/12/2008 20:57
