TBH, I cannot believe she is not banned if MNHQ know that there was a 'scam' collection which ended in her returning money?

yes it is...but I hardly ever post....just long term lurker....and donate like a mug to what I will increasingly now see as suspicious causes.........think I will stick to Secret Santa from now on...

I know that others that "donated" at other times didn't , but I did just feel I ought to say (as it was mentioned above) that as far as I knew those on the collection mention above did get their money returned.

also didn't get my money back....but then if she needed it that badly to construct the scam then maybe it's best she kept it....but I still feel like a mug..

did cvq get to read that other thread then, i am guessing? By the time i got to the top, which took half an hour, it had been pulled.

the placeis going mad, i was accused of troll like behaviour yesterday becuase i asked what sort of toys/games other mums' 6 yr olds were into. I was using my real name too!!!!

Marmaduke - am so glad you posted that - I also sent her £50 last christmas when she first appeared and was feeling a right muppet.... sorry that you got sucked in too - but I feel better that someone else did, if that makes sense

Well I didn't get my money back, maybe because I wasn't part of the collection - just plain stupid generous.

I'm pretty sure that TWR did pay everyone back (don't know for sure though)

I spent 45 minutes reading that thread - only had 3 pages left and when I clicked "next page" it had gone WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

Oh well it kept me from having to sort my kitchen out

I wish Mumsnet had never participated in that newspaper article saying what a kind, generous lot we were. I wonder if the site will be able to sustain itself longterm? Too many people getting fed up and even conned

Then I realised she was always having a hard time! I did then contact mnhq to say that I was concerned that many individuals may do as I had done...I wonder how much she made?

Not exactly a troll, hunker, just took it all a bit far, then a friend, also on MN, got in on the act and arranged a 'surprise' for TWR's 'birthday' - via email/CAT. Some money went TWR's way - then TWR needed money for rent or summat and loads of MNers contributed. Alllegedly she paid back the money.
