TW, I dunno - who knows who any of us is really.

MNHQ can "know" that someone's using the same computer as another poster from IP address, but if you have a laptop and a PC both connected and post as a separate poster from each - would that show up?

I don't know re CVQ - I do know that posting scads and scads on MN to the exclusion of doing anything in RL doesn't help long-term, so maybe this will be the boost into RL proper that she needs?

fourlittlefeet, MNHQ have responded to a complaint about the thread, I presume to the complaint by CvQ, and pulled it to avoid causing further upset. I expect. Perhaps one of MNHQ would like to comment?

surely it would have been better to leave the thread rather than having people read to that point and then go off with half baked ideas? or am I missing something (don't want anyone to be upset by a witch hunt obviously, but if I hadn't persued it to this thread would never have known)

How can they ever 'know' who is a troll?

I suspect that they 'know' that CvQ is not the same poster as EC, but I can't see how they can 'know' much more than that?

i can't remember how far on the thread you were, hunker, but even Flame conceded that CvQ wasn't a troll by the end of it, just before it was pulled, by my reading of it anyway.

hello my lovely, you still up? How is your hen? I am supposed to be trawling t'internet looking for a replacement holiday to lapland which was cancelled today due to overbooking (although we booked in Feb and paid in full in March), but it is soul-destroying. They are all booked for our available dates, I just know I am going to have to tell the DC we are not going

yes sadly CvQ did read that thread and it has really upset her, unsurprisingly. I don't know what went on between her and Psychomum, nor do I want to, but I don't feel that PM's friend did anyone any favours by her behaviour on that thread.

i am really quite upset with it myself - it has tarnished the "MN community" spirit for me a lot.
