When a thread is deleted ...

I was on a thread today which has obviously been deleted.

The other poster was clearly squaring up for a fight with me. I last posted mid/late afternoon, and when I came back to MN this evening it has gone, so obviously something has gone pear shaped and/or someone has reported the thread.d

Thing is, I'd like to see what what had been said! Anyway of a quick sneak at it, or knowing why it has been deleted?

Someone posting on the freelance boards patently advertising her business, who took great umbrage when it was pointed out to her that it wasn't acceptable on this site.

I did a search on her name, and most of her posts somehow managed to promote her business and link to her site. Only a handful were 'genuine'.

But LL you are also a very regular poster, and I think there's a certain latitude there. You have also paid to advertise your business.

This poster was new, and - bar one or two posts - had made sure that she posted her link/advertised her business on all her threads. The one I'm referring to was one that she started, and when I pointed out out to her that she should be paying she got quite uppity with me.

If she was a regular, then it would have been different, I think.

Well yes, but it's not always clear where the boundaries are - I had a post reported once and was ticked off by Justine (which was surprisingly upsetting!), so I can understand that it happens. But this was so brazen. A new poster (since August) using every opportunity to advertise their business.

Different IMO to my 'offence' or anything that you would have been doing, LL!

And I value the belonging, the feeling of community here too much to risk it by overstepping the mark.

This poster clearly had no concept of that.
