Why is this so SLOW tonight? No other site is, I have fast broadband...

Maybe we call all donate our home PCs and link them all up via the web thingy and make ourselves a server thingy, giving you more umph....that would work no???

NoNoNo, whilst YetMoreTech is obviously a slacker hardworking member of mnhq, and has sore eyes (hope you are ok) we cannot get into the habit of calling him Tech. Otherwise when the real Tech drops in it will be too confusing.

It's ok this morning. Feel a bit sorry for Tech - no one even asked him how he was feeling re his eyes?

We were all so traumatised by our own deprivation.

How are you Tech, after a day of eye treatment followed by an evening of some mners whinging?

Looks like we are going to have to shell out for another server I guess, our poor little one can't cope when everyone searches at once to find out how many people have ever agreed with them and the like... (129 agree, 13 disagree (and most of those weren't really disagreeing [ggrin])

it's not usually busy at 1/2am in the morning though (well if it is they're all lurking and not posting ) and it frequently lags then too

I explained those too. It's because the site is busy. The extent of tonight's slowdown is because of the unusually high volume of searching that's going on; searching takes a lot of oomph.

Well, tonight I'm on Google Chrome, so I get their 'smarter error messages', which seemed to over-ride any MN-generated error messages. But I have seen your new-style error messages before, on IE7
