We'll be offline for a few minutes tonight

There will be a short period where Mumsnet is off the air tonight (Wednesday). Hopefully it won't be for more than a few minutes so there shouldn't be any need to, y'know, talk to your partners or anything.

It won't be until at least 11.

If you would kindly let us know when it's going to be, we could arrange our dcs' bathtimes around it....? (Mine usually go up at about 7.30ish [hopeful emoticon])

cocolepew · 27/08/2008 18:57

They'll be articles in the papers tomorrow about the power surge on the national grid.. The journos will scratch their heads wondering what caused it, and we'll know it was all of MN putting the kettle on.

Swedes · 27/08/2008 18:51

Do you think there might be a sizeable peak in the national birth rate 38 weeks hence?

TrinityRhino · 27/08/2008 18:47

cant you tell us when you are about to doi it so we can prepare????

eandh · 27/08/2008 18:44

[nosey]

YetMoreTech · 27/08/2008 18:27

"Hmph - you were offline at about 4.15 this morning. Isn't that enough?"

We do that every night, in order to have a bit of a sweep up, put new batteries in and put a note out for the milk man.

However, I am working on a master plan which will soon alleviate the need for all that, so you can enjoy us in all our 24/7 glory.

I'm shaking already

Uriel · 27/08/2008 18:25

Early night?!

Saturn74 · 27/08/2008 18:24

I was asleep by 2am this morning.
It's good to have an early night now and again.

TrinityRhino · 27/08/2008 18:24

omg you can't do this

I may need to get drinking now and change my name RIGHT nNOW so that I'm prepared

cocolepew · 27/08/2008 18:24

If I'm right I'm telling you now I'm not hugging any of you fuckers huns.

IllegallyBrunette · 27/08/2008 18:23

A 'few' minutes is only 4 minutes in my book. Just enough time to go for a wee, make a drink etc.

Any longer and I will have nowt to do, so make sure it is only a few minutes.

Uriel · 27/08/2008 18:22

Hmph - you were offline at about 4.15 this morning. Isn't that enough?

FabioTheFlouncingCat · 27/08/2008 18:22

Gahahhaahh coco!
You could be right!

Saturn74 · 27/08/2008 18:21

"Some time after I've made and eaten the dinner and before I go to bed".

Too vague!

What's for dinner?
How long will it take to cook?
Do you eat quickly or slowly - how many chews per mouthful?
Are you planning an early night?

Arrrrgggggghhhhhhhhh!

SpandexIsMyEnemy · 27/08/2008 18:18

you mean i'm actually gonna have to study tonight - hmm... ponders what's on the box!

cocolepew · 27/08/2008 18:18

OMG it's a coup by NetMums

Stand firm ladies!

YetMoreTech · 27/08/2008 18:16

It's nothing to do with smileys. That's BigTech's thing and besides, you scared him so much last time he won't ever go near them again.

I don't know exactly when. Some time after I've made and eaten the dinner and before I go to bed.

I am not sure the duration of the outage warrants the test card to be honest.

The reasons for the downtime are far too dull to discuss; you won't notice any difference when it's back. Feel free to make up your own reasons though.
