I namechanged after posting a link to a painting my DP had done of me after realising I could be identified in RL. The same could not be said if I'd painted anyone,though

nappyaddict - I am talking more about posters who start several threads all about the same subject in different forums but asking for the same advice but then ignoring it and posting more threads under the same username asking the same thing again!.

how do you find people out on here.
i canbarely remember people's posting names..and often when i do think i remember some facts about someone im wrong.

you must keep note pads beside your pc's

i have noticed a few similar threads on here recently but i just thought it was because someone will read one thread and it will spark off a similar question in their head so then they post a thread about that and so on. perhaps i am being naive.

I've not caught anyone but are there people who come on here and post variations of the same thing over and over to get attention and am I the only one not in on the secret because I have noticed lately that I am having to repeat advice over and ovr and over again to wither the same poster or different ones who are posting similar things

I am certainly guilty of not correcting some posters impressions of me (where those were more flattering than reality)...

Doubt there is much lying on Mn. Apart from a few inadequate individuals, frankly who could be bothered? Subterfuge requires effort!

Maybe some people don't feel that internet forums, not being real life, require honesty all the time. It's not like real friends you are not telling the truth to, so what should it matter?

(Obviously nasty trolling such as pretending about premature babies etc excluded from above comment)
