How do I get a picture fm my computer onto my Blog?

I have actually managed it but had to delete it as it was HUGE. How can I make it smaller?

Thank you, Lapin, I have it open in Microsoft office Pictures.
Another dim q - what would be a good size to re-size it to? Do I resize it in terms of pixels, MBs o Cms??
