From a male perspective...

Can we have a new board where men can come and mansplain, moan about their wife, tell us what an awful woman an ex is and just spout general misogyny.

I'm sure the women of Mumsnet always value hearing men's opinions so having them in one place would make it easier to find these gems of wisdom.

Oh yes, a special place where those posts we all love beginning "Man here" can go.

shellyleppard · 20/09/2026 16:23

@Theresmagicwheretheflowersgrow yeah I can think of somewhere.....🗑️🚮🗃️🗑️

LuckyHazelFox · 20/09/2026 16:24

Opinions should be valued no matter who is espousing them. There already seems to be informal mods on here, who want to censor other people's opinions and then go running off to another forum to slag off MN's users. I thought everyone was welcome. Is it a good idea to single any group out?

Shedmistress · 20/09/2026 16:26

And can the 'how can I make/coerce/cajole my wife to have more sex with me' chaps fk/trot off there too?

TurquoiseGoldPeaches · 20/09/2026 16:28

No.

Weeellokthen · 20/09/2026 16:28

Crack on. What's on your mind op?

Mothrasstillmoshing · 20/09/2026 16:31

There is one 🤔
If you click on TOPICS and scroll down to IN THE CLUB there is a wonderful place for the mansplainers, the selfish and the twats wearing a penis which is called Dadsnet.
Please go there....now... and fuck off and join the patriarchal stable mates that you clearly deserve.
Thank you - NFO

Yeah it's okay to single men out who only come on here to either perv (see the sex board) or tell us we are wrong.

Whisperwaves · 20/09/2026 16:32

Or ask us why they are not getting enough sex.

So you want a separate board for men like there is with other categories of posters? Who will they be talking with?

A thread today where the OP thinks his wife was unreasonable to be upset that his wife was upset over a relationship with a much younger female colleague.

And what do you think of that?

That can't be real.

Sunbringer · 20/09/2026 16:38

Dadsnet Exists… men just don’t use it because they don’t want their own board they want what the women have.

Morepositivemum · 20/09/2026 16:40

I sometimes like hearing men’s perspectives on things!!

So do I, but preferably not on MN .

roseymoira · 20/09/2026 17:03

It would be good if all their threads could be moved to Dadsnet.

Or actually, as there is already a board for the men called Dadsnet, maybe we could also have a board for the women specifically, perhaps called Mumsnet 🤣

I know it’s full of man haters but Mumsnet is for everyone.

Good idea, I'd vote for that 🤣

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 20/09/2026 17:06

Can they call it the Man Here board? Since it seems to be they're favourite way to start conversation 🙄

FannybygaslightinGovan · 20/09/2026 17:06

Man here...

Nah only joking, get them to fuck 😂

I do, too. Plus I think saying “man here” is fine because the assumption otherwise is that posters are women. It’s just giving an alert that what follows is from a man. You can ask for different words, but “man here” is short and to the point.

But, I have to admit that I am not a mother, so…🤷‍♀️

If I want a man's perspective I'll ask my DH, DB or Dman on the street. I come to mumsnet to get a woman's perspective.

Which is exactly why you need the alert that the person posting is a man. It is not possible for prevent men posting and some people do like seeing a man’s pov. With the information that the poster is a man, you can ignore it and move on. The rest of us can read it.

The point I was responding to was not about whether or not men should post but that some people like to read a man’s perspective and wish to know that the poster is a man. As you don’t want to read anything that a man writes, you agree with me that it’s useful to know if the poster is male.
