why did you choose THAT nickname?

I am really curious at the originality of some names- just HOW did you choose your name?

I'll go first- I thought it might make me appear approachable and friendly- and it is also very anonymous- rather than including my initials or anything like that.

I just started calling my newborn dd2 this name last year the minute she popped out. Means absolutely nothing!

I was going through the hell of trying to express milk for a poorly feeding newborn ds1 when I joined MN - HV had told me to express after every feed, including all of the night time ones and I was wondering when in this plan I was supposed to get any sleep. And I wasn't getting much milk when expressing either.

At the time it seemed equivalent to torture in a Turkish prison.

My DSs used to say 'Mummy do it' about a thousand times a day, whenever I asked them to do something, so I thought it might as well be my name.

i was originlly FATTIEMUMMA as it was pretty descriptive and to the point.

i got nagged because people felt it rude to call me fatty..even though i loved it.

so i asked for help with a new one and someone suggested this...and i am very happy with it.

Totally unoriginal - I'd been lurking for a while and saw a question about the education system in Scotland, and thought "I can answer that!" and registered so that I could.

A couple of names I wanted had gone, trying to think of won ganced at my bookshelf, and SoupKitchen was the book that stood out, plus I love t cook

DD is, to all intents and purposes, Clarice Bean. And I am her mum. And we are both huge Lauren Child fans.

i am from the mean streets of hackney, but now live in the countryside and i have boys. it is tongue in cheek (coz its rubbish! its v 'parents who think theyre cool'.

i am serial name changer tho. am fickle and bore eassily. longest standing name has been nappiesgalore coz i had 3 babies in 2.5 yrs and was about eye deep in the things for a while there.

Not very original I'm afraid, my Dd is Isabelle, and her aunties have always called her izzybiz from a baby!

I already had an email address that incorporated it. I thought I'd only sign into MN once a month or less (no, don't laugh), so needed something easy to remember.

I used to have a great name and then had to change..

I heard the advert for this show on television whilst I was trying to think of a new name, and thought i'd change it to Mummy at the end for MN.

Also, its quite fitting
