Why are you making fun of someone's appearance with your logo change

Can I ask why you've changed the logo to be big ears to poke fun at King Charles?

I'm not a royalist but I don't think making fun of someone like this for their appearance is really fair.

I’m echoing the other people decrying this infantile mockery. I’m no royalist but equally think this is inappropriate and unpleasant. Not what I would expect from mumsnet.

How did the idea for that logo even get off the ground? How many times do we have to be treated like idiots?

And when we finally DO get a response, it'll just be another thing they say "oh sorry it was an intern/bot/man/ghost/our bad" lulz soz ladeez.

Like some others I signed up at femvox a few months ago and more or less forgot about it. I was going to suggest a revolt and that anyone else fed up with this come with back there me but .....

I wish could believe it would make a difference to the spirit of this site. Whatever it's meant to be.

MN is an ableist, racist cesspit at times - enabled by the attitude of those at MNHQ.

Imagine if the company you worked for changed their logo in the same way this weekend! Or if Royal Mail, the NHS, Google etc stuck a pair of big ears on their logo for lolz.

It beggars belief that MN did this.

I posted this on another thread but I'll put it here as well who knows whether @MNHQ will care enough to read it (doubt it).

As someone who has spent years being mocked about my appearance (the clue is in the username), to see MN clearly doing the same for the "laughs" is not on. If there is ever an apology no doubt it will have a "chill out it was only a bit of bantz" type ring to it.

It's not just about Charles and the size of his ears. It's about the message it sends about what mumsnet consider fair game for the lolz. And that's not ok.

@mnhq this is puerile and completely hypocritical when you delete people’s threads for “not in the spirit of the site” stuff. Doesn’t matter what you think of the man or the institution, this isn’t witty, isn’t satire, it’s tired old schoolyard-bully level stuff that’s been trotted out since before most of your tech crew were probably born. Are you going to respond, or just ignore the many, many complaints about this until the Coronation is over, and then shrug it all off and delete the hideous thing?

I’ve reported disablist comments on threads in the past and they’ve not been deleted , whoever makes the decisions here has a warped mind it seems and doesn’t know what’s appropriate
