Ozempic and similar threads

I know Ozempic etc is an exciting new thing but it's kind of taking over the weight loss chat board so can it have its own board like weight watchers, calorie counting, slimming world etc. please?

Is it just me though?

Yes, agree should have separate board. The weight loss board seems to be full of Ozempic threads when I go on there and it's not something I'm interested in.

I don't specifically follow the weight loss board but even I've noticed the number of these threads in active, is there a need to have so many different ones?

@XLáBealtaine I’ve struggled with my weight all my life and have been quite shocked by the number of women on here who only have a stone or two to lose and are using Ozempic. I think it’s being widely misused sadly 😢

I can see a need for an ‘Ozempic and Similar Medications’ board, yes, as per pp ^^

Its a very expensive medication when used electively / privately, and a lot of the discussion seems to be about how to get hold of it and what people pay. It was ok when it was contained in a couple of threads (a bit like the HRT shortages on the Menopause board) but they do now seem to be proliferating.

I’ll be interested in what others think.

I agree @tobee the vast majority of people will not be going down that weight loss route. It needs its own board.

I'm interested in weight loss chat but my goal is to get back in the normal range, ie, under 25 on the BMI chart.

When I see Ozempic in the title, rightly or wrongly I conclude that they've been obese all their life and are trying to prevent obesity from affecting their health.
But I may be wrong. Are people like myself with a bmi of 27 using ozempic? Not celebrities? not wealthy people? Just women with jobs and kids and a messy house finding the money and the inclination to go on Ozempic rather than but back on wine and crisps??

I don't want to take it. Not judging anybody who does, but I think I'd rather to continue to focus on health than take an expensive drug for the rest of my life!! Not for me.

If my weight were high enough to effect my health I would take it but I don't think I'm in that category.

I wouldn't follow ozempic chat on here but I have watched a few youtube clips as you can see the 'journey'.
