Mumsnet turning into Tattle

Anyone else noticed how horrible some of the users on Mumsnet are. There are a few threads on here that I have read and some of the users are so rude with their replies, it reminds me of Tattle the way the users just slate and put people down. I think, would they be so rude and obnoxious if you was asking their advice face to face.

It’s much more interesting and pleasant over on Gransnet. Used to think the opposite but not for a long time now. As for the so called improvement in presentation well that doesn’t help.

I agree it doesn't help. It's tricky- I name change fairly often because I post things that, taken together, are quite identifying- about a house move, kids' school choices, new job- nothing very interesting but if you knew me you would know it was me. I'd definitely post less if it all had to be under one name, so I can see why the function is there, but it's definitely open to abuse.

There has always been some quite brutal yet honest posting on MN. I first joined 12 years ago & while some responses definitely could come across as rude they weren't as pointlessly nasty as some I see now. In a dilemma you often need a totally unrelated someone who isn't afraid to tell you the truth, which is why I loved MN so much in the first place.

Yes I agree about the name changing and the sheer amount of obvious troll threads.

Mumsnet is much more toxic than Tattle and has been for ages.
