Why are you allowing people to troll the Sex Board?

If it was any other board you wouldn't allow it.
If I went on another board and started posting recipes and taking the piss out of the posters I'd quickly be banned.
It is flooded with people trolling it.
Every single thread.
It's really horrible.
Take it off active or just shut the whole board down.
It's disgusting.

I think the whole point is that it’s not possible to hide it on the app, at least for some posters.

This isn't about whether posters on the sex board are genuine or perverts or men pretending to be women.
Not everyone on there is fake.
There are real genuine people on there too.
The issue is the rest of mumsnet who don't agree with the topic being allowed to come over to the board and troll it with hateful, immature comments. And nothing is being done about it.

Im absolutely no prude but when its come up on active i was disgusted. Men posting for sex... literally every female space can be used by men to get there end away can it? is this what mumsnet had become... there are more appropriate sites for this.

If there was a way of hiding it in the app (without having to log in on a PC) I would, but it seems there isn't.

Actually, as an occasional visitor there, I've seen some very respectful (and enlightening!!) conversations happening between men and women.
And 'dubious' posts were ignored/swiftly reported.

Always good to get different perspectives.

Maybe the few threads I dipped into were the tamer end, so I'm not familiar with an overall tone being complained about?

Why can't anyone bothered by having it show in Active simply hide the board?
Problem solved.

But, yes, I imagine the more visibility it's given, sheer upswing in traffic will no doubt equal more mischief-makers (plus it's been half term, so bored teens?
Though isn't there still a registered user for minimum week requirement before posting?)

Seemed to do ok when quietly on Body and Soul.

Absolutely tragic that a bunch of men aren't able to walk over the mumsnet forum as much as usual this weekend, my heart really bleeds for the "usual posters".

I’m not sure it’s walking that those saddos and creeps are doing.

Totally agree.
Some posters are incredibly childish.
And also appear to have zero IT ability so can't hide threads or topics.

Feel free to share the details of how to hide the topic on the app. Multiple posters have asked for this and HQ are unable to help.

Its a fundamental principle of consent that the "recipient" should opt in, not have to opt out and especially not have to opt out without any warning. I'd expect the managers of a women centred forum to be rather more clear on consent than they appear to be.

I don't often post in the sex topic to be honest but it's really horrible to see it being attacked like it is.
Obviously there are trolls on there just like the rest of the site.
My issue is people attacking all the threads on there with immature crap.
It's not really on that its being allowed to happen and MN are not doing anything to stop it.

And still radio silence from MN HQ. No explanation as to the reason for moving it to Active and drastically reducing the time you need to be on MN before using it. It's clear that neither the users of the board nor the non-users like the new set up.

my fave was "ah so much like the home life of our dear departed queen" had me chucking for ages.

I'm giving up on MN for a month or so see if it improves. it's a weird vibe. All the normal stuff mixed in with SEXSEXSEX I don't understand are they really hard up?

This. ^ I have never been there before this week and never knew it existed. But it's been in the ACTIVE topics this week, so I had a gander. Some weird shit in there. 😜 Sure, maybe some women like to discuss sex and what positions they like lalalalala, but as pps have said, it's going to be full of perverted men aged 40+ getting their rocks off to what they read on there. Some posters claiming to be women are probably men too.
