Yep. There's another thread about this in site stuff. You can't hide it on the app. Looks like MN have done some kind of marketing deal with shrek's ear and now we have to see threads about rimming and anal sex every time we log in.

IS IT actually possible to hide the topic now? It's been on my hidden topic list since doomsday and I have still been getting threads in active. I even had a thread about it but no one answered.

Mine is exactly the same. Hidden, but I can still see them all.

I've hidden the topic but it still appears in ever 'Active' list due to the 'Promoted by MN' bits which I presume are set up so you can't get rid of them.

I like sex as much as the next person but I don't want it in active convos. Please can you get it back to how it used to be?!

I don't actually mind it being in active, because it's possible to Hide topics if you don't want to see them.

If you can't do it from your usual phone or whatever, use a laptop (or a tablet) and log in to the desk top site and do it from there.

MNHQ probably don't like people saying this, but I use an adblocker (started years ago when the ads on here made the site unusable) and haven't looked back.

I haven't seen any of the ads that people are talking about, and just scroll past promo stuff. And am mindful that nearly all the ads you get served on MN are the result of what you click on (on MN and perhaps elsewhere, depending on what tracker cookies you have allowed)

I have the same problem. Using Brave as my browser. I don't want to see the sex topics and hiding doesn't work.

Those adverts for sex gadgets are extremely offensive. That one about using it after birth hit a new low. On a parenting site. Just why.

@mnhq how do I block the subject. It won't let add to the box. I can follow but not unfollow.

I really don't want to see subjects like 'rimming' while I eat my breakfast!!

Loads of people have asked for it to be taken off Active (those that read/post on it lots and those who don't). Don't think anyone wants it in Active except MNHQ.

I tried hiding the "promoted by mumsnet" section but it's not possible!
Some of their promoted titles are deeply irritating

I've hidden it and can't see any but I don't know whether that's because they're hidden or because there aren't any in Active at the moment. There were never many showing on Active for me over the day anyway.

I have answered my own question.
Having scrolled down active. Surprise, surprise, there's a sex topic thread.
Howz about you sort it so that the topic IS actually hidden. It appears no matter what browser I use and whether I use an android phone or tablet and I use the mobile site.

There are the 'stickied' MNHQ promotion threads, though. I wish I could simply magic them away too. And they seem to be 'stickied' there, suspended in our collective tedium, for bloody ages.
