I've not really posted on the Royal Family board in the last couple of days because of the influx of 'new posters', and the arrival of yet more bots (some of which were fairly sophisticated).

Other comments, no matter how genuine and heartfelt, were simply against Talk Guidelines.

I wouldn't blame MNHQ for trying to sort it all out.

Having said that, threads will now pop up all over the rest of the site, esp in AIBU and Chat.

Genuine question @AutumnCrow but why did you think some were bots?

I probably look like a new poster but have just done my monthly name change. Have been on here nearly 20 years.

I didn't notice anything strange about posters (well as "unstrange" as a mumnset royal poster can be ;) )

I had hidden the topic last week and unhid it this morning to check it was still appalling (it was). I re-hid it. I've just checked and it's not in my list of hidden topics - it has gone. Does this mean the UK is a republic now?

To be fair, it really was going through a bit of a shoddy patch. It's normally fairly quiet but good for history, facts and watch-alongs.

Agreed @Peasepuddingbloodycold - I don't normally have it hidden and it will often have some interesting threads in it.
