Pop up iPhone winner

Just as above . I keep getting a pop up without touching anything saying as a google customer I have won an iPhone.

We're really sorry that these ads were causing so much disruption last night. We think we've managed to block them all by now but if anyone's still experiencing problems please let us know.

Yep also getting this, it’s bloody annoying! BT and Aldi logos on the page but the site name is luckypuppy. Chrome on iPhone.

It's been happening all night. I'm using an android, with virgin wifi. I just gave up on a thread as it was popping up so much it was unreadable.

It knows what network you are, I think, because every website essentially has something written into it which will request info from the users device to make sure the website works well for them - eg it will receive info about the users device, platform/operating system, browser, version, connection etc. It’s called a User Agent string/ User Client Hint or something like that. It will make sure that the website displays correctly for the screen size of your device etc. There are some obvious privacy concerns here, especially seeing as the pop up doesn’t seem to be coming from the website we are all trying to look at - assume it’s an ad server getting our info and gone rogue?

It knows what network you are, I think, because every website essentially has something written into it which will request info from the users device to make sure the website works well for them - eg it will receive info about the users device, platform/operating system, browser, version, connection etc. It’s called a User Agent string/ User Client Hint or something like that.
