Update to the quote feature

This is a quick update about a feature change that has just been released.

Following the re-platforming we had quite a lot of feedback about the new version of the quote feature.

To prevent the quotes being very long when there are multiple quotes we will now only show the latest message and then you can click 'show quote history' to read the previous messages that were quoted.

We've also tweaked the design to make it clearer who wrote each message in the quote and when they posted.

Ah, I see, you don’t have to choose only the latest quote….it does it anyway. Much better thanks!

Good idea. I’d personally prefer the quotes the other way (oldest at the top) and all above but I’ll get used to it.

@MistyRock I've just been reliably informed that the default setting when you post on threads is to automatically watch them so they show in both lists - you can change that on here so when you post it isn't automatically added to your watch list.

Can I add my thanks and appreciation for this.

Now if only deleted threads weren't disappearing off my watched and I'm on lists.....

@MistyRock do you mean the threads you've watched and posted on are appearing in both lists? I'll check but for now, can you possibly unwatch the threads you're on?

@KatyMumsnet is there anyway to stop the 'I'm on' also bring saved in the 'watching' bit as my 'watching' gets filled with the duplicates from 'I'm on'. (Android app) many thanks

@Judashascomeintosomemoney it is live now on the website - you'll only see it where there are quotes that quote another post. If you're using the app it's not possible to quote a post that contains another quote yet so you won't see it there.

When will this be possible? I use the app as I find it easiest to read. I feel disadvantaged not being able to properly see the quoted quotes
