Is there just less content being posted now?

It's definitely put me off. I've been here years, i can't see me starting any more threads any time soon. The default response by lots of people seems to be very thinly disguised personal attacks without even properly reading the OP or considering if their response is going to add anything constructive. You always got some nasty bastards but now it's overwhelming. Every single thread I've seen recently.

I can't quite put my finger on it, but it's almost like it's a deliberate strategy. But why? To damage the site and the reputation of MN? Then why doesn't MNHQ do something about it? Has the move to the new platform hampered its ability to handle trolls and idiots and previously banned posters (PBPs)?

Or is there a new mod culture, that's not that fussed about 'user experience'? Can't see that flying too well with the mum-and-baby-focused avertisers.

And I'm still highly suspicious of that email data leak, that occurred at and by MNHQ (I mean 'MNHQ' in the sense of who's responsible - could have been an intern working from their bedroom but ykwim).

Agree. Sometimes its a windows into a whole other world of unpleasantness that I didn't know existed.

I have found starting a new thread really difficult at the moment. I will only go through the steps if I really need to. It used to be so easy on the phone.

You can still use the old emoticons. If you click the emoji button there is a blue Mumsnet M at the end of the row - click in that and they are all there!

I also discovered the other day if you start typing the square bracket and the MN code fir the emoji, the original ones pop up too.

I must admit I read some posts and cannot actually believe what I’m reading. My life is so boring.

Hiding topics does improve things a bit. I only have 9 visible topics, so I don't see a lot of the Relationship madness or FWR, or any of the baby stuff unless it pops up in AIBU or Chat.
But a skim down Active sometimes is like Groundhog Day. There's a driving/non driving one that's been going about a week now with everyone saying the same old things (including me ), nothing really changes with those sort of threads. You could copy and paste some answers and insert them where necessary.

To delete whole topics you need to go into settings I have found after much trial and error.

If anyone finds another site which is better, please let us know.
I can’t PM anyone now either since the site has changed. Don’t know why.

I posted an innocuous thread about something boring in a dull sub forum the other day as wanted more information about a subject. I got jumped all over by some very nasty people just for asking a question.

Since the upgrade I have stopped posting or even engaging on MN , it's just not so user friendly

You have to tread on eggshells, or blatantly ignore people, if you don't want a row. It's so combative. There was even a mildly rude person on an innocuous, inoffensive train timetable thread today of all things. I've been here years and have the skin of a rhino but it might put others off posting.

The threads don't change much. There's still a few from a few hours ago. It's slow moving too.

I agree with this. MNHQ are responsible for setting the tone of the site and they don't seem to have the same approach they used to.

I'm on an Australian parenting site (everybump) and the mods are really good at keeping nastiness at bay, but it takes time and effort, maybe MNHQ is lacking staff at the moment?

I’m struggling with my post disappearing mid type. I have resorted to copying some of the tv ones as I go along. Others? If they disappear I lose the will.

I may just be fed up but I see potential hairy hands a lot. Usually the subject matter will get my prongs out, but there are phrases/words/writing styles that scream to me it is someone who isn’t being entirely truthful. If three or more gems appear in the first paragraph, I don’t bother.

The other thing that is driving me insane is when you bookmark the last Post you have read on a thread and the next time you come onto that thread you are left at page 1 post 1. Infuriating..

I just wrote a long comment on a thread about a father's day present and step child but it just refused to post so I have now deleted it which is such a waste of time, and now I am wondering if this one will make it on. Here goes...

And @mnhq they don’t even have the curtesy to leave a deletion message the thread is just gone.

I posted on a thread earlier and yes it’s gone just because the OP stamped her foot and didn’t like the replies, there was some really good advice that would have helped others, I don’t know why I bother posting, it seems you can get your thread deleted whenever you like now, need to find another site.
